"What?"

Iruka and Kakashi's voices echoed throughout the office. Kōri scoffed at their reaction. He can feel that his queen's sudden change of attitude is triggered by one of these two men he's looking at. "You heard me. The queen's getting married to a Fuyuhana. She has to keep the bloodline pure again since she has a non-Fuyuhana blood running in her body." He pointed at his own eyes.

"Nami could care less about that stupid bloodline thing!" Kakashi gave a deathly glare towards the young man in front of him. If only he could enter through the screen just to punch him in the face. Kōri let out a mocking laugh, rolling his eyes at the Hokage's naiveness. "Apparently your words contrast the queen's words yesterday a lot."

Iruka felt like snapping the latter's neck. He may be pretty, but his arrogance is testing the chuunin's limits. "And when will Nami rise to the throne, if you happen to know?" Kōri hummed upon hearing the question, his silky hair shone despite being in a dark room. The humming continued until Kakashi gave out a loud cough. "Oh, I'm surprised the invitation hasn't reach Konoha yet. Or could it be the queen didn't send one?" The latter let out a soft gasp of surprise before breaking into a pretty laugh.

They could hear rumbling footsteps from Kōri's end. Guess someone finally detected some transmission waves. "Ah, my time here is up." The young man stood up, letting both of them see him at his full height. Iruka couldn't help but gasp upon looking at him.

He would die to have a figure like Kōri.

"Let's say about two more weeks? Ah, I'll check if Konoha is on the list. Maybe I can slip in if you aren't there?" The steps began to grow louder. "I know one of you triggered something that broke her. I hope you'll confess when we meet again."

"How can you be so sure we'll meet?" Kakashi voiced out once more. He couldn't help but feel that Kōri actually knows the truth. It was like he was just mentally torturing him- which is working very well.

"Hokage-sama, Iruka-san," There were voices now- screams and shouts from the guards' attempt to open the door. "We will meet. Just maybe in the most unexpected way." A typhoon appeared out of nowhere in the Mizukage's office as Kōri's silhouette disappears.

Kōri slumped against the old tree as he watched the Mizukage's office burst into life. 'Note to self, request the queen to have cool technology too. That is if she ever snapped back to her old self.' The swordsman couldn't help but let out a very loud sigh. He did not expect all of these to happen after the war. As he dashed himself back to the Snow Islands, he let his mind wander back to the Hokage's expression.

What the hell did he do to screw up the queen that bad?

Kōri really wishes that Kakashi would confess soon. Sure, he might attack the Hokage if it was something really bad, but they need to work together to save the queen from... whatever is running her mind now. With every step he took closer to the Snow Islands, Kōri dropped each if his weapon and tied his hair back again- to avoid himself getting caught with long hair. Kōri loved his hair probably a bit too much, but that was his greatest asset.

He managed to reach the castle gates by sunrise. Kōri is considered as one of the elder servants- hence the risk of him getting caught sneaking around was lesser than if he was a new servant. Boy, he did not want to be a new servant again- he would rather die.

The servant entered one room at the end of the corridor. Since they were the senior servants, their duties were more directed towards the queen and her court. And because Kōri was personally Nami's favorite, she had never given Kōri any work- a gratitude for joining her in the war where no other people from the Snow Islands would come.

Which was why when Kōri was suddenly summoned to carry some random white-haired asshole's luggage he felt like something- or someone was messing with his queen's mind. He entered the room quietly, as he always had done before closing the door gently. The room always stayed the same. The scent of blood still lingered despite the long years that had passed. Kōri reached out to the table beside the bed, his eyes locked on the family portrait right in front of him.

"What would you do, in this situation? Would you continue to fight, or would you surrender?" He felt tears threatening to run down his cheeks as he focused on the two young children in the photo.

He was serious when he said he was an ally of Konoha. It was time for someone to stand up and fight the ones who are wrong. Heck, he would do anything to make sure the Snow Islands would finally have that peaceful era everyone had dreamed of. "I promise," Kōri's voice broke at the start of his sentence. "Your death will be worth it."
