I stand from my seat, leaving the steaming mug of coffee on the table as I look over at Landon.

"Can we go?" I ask as Liam charges for the front door, speaking quickly into his phone that's now at his ear. "Is there a back exit?"

I was in motion before Landon could answer, seeing his finger in my peripheral vision motion toward the side of the café that was crowded.

"What's wrong?" I hear Landon ask close behind me.

I didn't stop to tell him as I weaved through standing bodies and pulled out seats blocking small isles between the tables. Before my hand could catch the back door knob, Liam stepped in the way.

"Fuck! What do you want?" I snapped, my eyes darting up to look at his face.

The café grew silent and Liam's eyes darted around quickly before his voice lowered to a whisper, bending just a bit to bring his face closer so I could hear him without everyone else hearing in.

"Can we just talk?" He asks.

"No, go run back to Zayn." I answer.

"He'll be here soon, we can all talk." His light brown eyes dart to Landon before he straightens up slightly and opens the back door behind him, motioning me out.

I slipped past him and stride across the sidewalk at a quick pace, wanting to get lost in the nighttime crowd like I did before.

"Marley." I hear Landon behind me, jogging to catch up.

"I'll talk to you later, yeah? I'll spin by your place or something." I answer without looking at him, just wanting to get away from here.

"Wait. Marley, wait one second." Landon says again, grunting as my pace leaves him behind me.

"I'm sorry, I just gotta go." I say.

"Marley." Liam sternly says just before I feel a hand grasp my arm, causing me to stop with it's force, but before I could complain, Landon's hand clamps down on Liam's that holds me.

"Let her go, mate." Landon says in a threatening voice.

"Let go of me." Liam says, his tone deep and just as intimidating.

I used my free hand to peel Liam's fingers from my arm and when I was free, Landon released Liam. They both glared at each other and I sighed in frustration before turning away.

"Have fun." I call out behind me.

The sounds around me echoed in my head as I tried to listen for an advance from behind, but Liam's steps were oddly quiet and when he appeared in front of me, I saw that he only wore socks on his feet.

"Can I just have a word with you?" He says, his body planting itself firmly in front of me, causing me to bump into him.

I pulled away and folded my arms over my chest. "Alright. How's about 'betrayal'? Or 'no'? Or my personal favorite, 'goodbye'."

"Marley. Please." Liam sighs, his eyes darting to something behind me for a moment before his arms snake around me. "Who is he? Is he bothering you or something?"

I knew he was talking about Landon, and I didn't want him to hug me. I was angry at him, I was angry at all of them.

"Get off, Liam." I struggle against his hold until he finally releases me and I shove him away. "He's my uncle from before my parents and I left Bradford. Why are you even here?"

"I wasn't told a thing other than 'Marley found out about the letter and she's ran away'. Zayn called everyone he could to help look for you. What letter?" After Liam was done explaining, his expression was tired and confused. Could he really not have known about it?
