Luke's POV-
I zipped up my suitcase and then pulled it upright.

"Are you sure you've got everything?" Annie asked, walking in from the bedroom with my shoes in her hand.
"Thanks, and yes, I have everything and even if I don't, I'll be fine, I will either buy it over there or not bother, it's only three days." I sat down and started putting my shoes on.

"Now, are you going to arrange to see Emma?" Annie nodded.
"Yep, I will tonight after I've finished wrapping caleb's presents."
"Talking about presents, there was a present in our mail box downstairs, I've put them under the tree."

I mentioned as Annie leapt off the couch and went to the tree.

"This one?" She held up the small present which was wrapped in gold paper.
"Yeah, it has a card with your name on the top so I knew it was yours." I got up and went over to Annie.
"And you have no idea who it's from?"
"Not a clue. I just went down to collect one of my packages and they gave it to me aswell, I presumed it was from one of your family or something, they must know you well if they know where you live."
"Luke, you know it could be off anyone, they don't have to know our apartment number, they can just walk into the complex and ask for this to be given to me, what if it's.... you know." She stuttered, we both looked down at the present and we both thought the same thing.

"Open the card." I muttered, crouching down to watch what Annie was doing.

Her small pale hands pulled the card from the top of the box. She opened the envelope and pulled out the card which had a snowman on the front.

"You might need these soon. Annabelle these are for you." She read as her eyes scanned the card. I took the card off her and looked at it.
"I don't want to open it Luke, it could be anything."
"We still don't know it's off him, it could be someone from college or your family."

She peeled back the wrapping paper and closed her eyes.

I reached inside the box and pulled out a pair of scissors. They weren't like craft scissors, they were big and they were all silver.

She opened her eyes and took the scissors out of my hand.

"I'm confused but I don't have a good feeling about this."
"Okay." I said as I stood up. I got the card and ripped up the card and threw the scissors in the trash.
"What are you doing?" Annie asked as she rose to her feet.
"I'm stopping this bubble of fear we live in. Their both gone, forget about them and pretend like we never saw them, we can't keep being scared." She nodded.
"Haven't you got a plane to catch?" She replied as she picked up her phone and showed me the time.

We spent another 10 minutes talking about everything and then we decided it was time for Luke to go.

"Have fun in Spain, I'm going to miss you." I squeezed Annie and then kissed her hair.
"I'm going to miss you too, stay safe and goodbye princess." He greeted as he wheeled his suitcase out of the door.

I closed the apartment door and locked it. After that I got the scissors and card out the bin, I need to keep them.
