How do I propose to Sherlock? John thought in his head. It could be a simple date night or something, but he wanted to to be creative and special. John paced around the flat, thinking more than he was ever done in his entire life. He got tired of walking and sat down at the kitchen table. He only had one hour before Sherlock got back from the Yard and he want to do it today since he has been putting it off every time he got the chance. John put his face in his hands and sighed deeply. He took his face out of his hands and looked at Sherlock's latest experiment. It was a complete disaster. You couldn't tell what he was working on. John got curious and looked into Sherlock's microscope. There wasn't a slide in, so he couldn't see anything. He picked up one of the slides and inserted it into the microscope. John couldn't tell what was on it but it was purple and it looked like it had something growing on it. John froze. He had and idea of how to propose to Sherlock
John got excited, he went back to their shared bedroom and took the two rings out of the box he had hidden under the bed. He put the rings into his pocket and went back into the kitchen.
Sherlock got back home about thirty minutes later. They had a normal conversation, John asked how the case went and Sherlock complained about everyone being annoying. Sherlock sat down at his experiment while John put on the kettle. Sherlock went to insert a slide but he realized there was already one in. He looked into his microscope and didn't move, he just stared at the slide, comprehending what it read.
John got down on one knee when Sherlock looked up from his microscope. He took out the rings and smiled. Sherlock looked at the rings, then to John, then back at the rings. Was this really happening?
Marry me? John asked in a gentle tone.
Yes, Sherlock smiled.
John took Sherlock's hand and slid the ring onto his finger. Sherlock took the other ring and slid it onto John's finger. John got up off the floor and kissed Sherlock. He finally did it. He proposed to Sherlock Holmes.
