"Welcome to the Warehouse Hotline. How can I make your day even more evil?"

"It's you, again? Wow."

"Hey, it's not like I want to talk to you either. What do you want?"

"I wanted to talk to Dianna."

"Why? Is she your girlfriend?"

"No, she's my friend. Why do you keep answering my call for? Why doesn't someone else do it?"

"It's programmed this way. Don't ask how, I can't say."

"Whatever. Where's Sapp- I mean Dianna?"

"I don't know, rookie. Have an evil day."

"Listen you-."

Avery was cut off when she heard some familiar talking.

"Alright, Chase?"

"What is she doing here?"

"What does it look like. She works here."

"Well, she's never here at her station."

"I'm sure she was busy."

The boy scoffed.

"Or probably making out with a guy behind the dumpsters."

It all happened so quickly, the loud sound of a thud causing Avery to jump at the sound and grow cautious.

"Speak to me like that again and this won't be the only thing I do to you."

Avery heard a dangerous voice state as she recognised it all too well.

"You're injured already. What happened out today?"

"Estranged things."

The sound of shuffling was heard in the background as soft breathing was heard from the other end of the line.

"Dianna?"

Avery asked softly.

"Yeah?"

"Are you hurt?"

"No."

"Don't lie to me now."

"I'm not, though."

There was a small patch of silence between them, the sound of the busy Warehouse Hotline heard in the background sprang an idea into Avery's head.
