"No, I don't get it, y/n! I made these reservations two whole months ago, and you couldn't tell me that you were busy?" Ethan yelled down the phone, running a hand through his hair. You winced at how loud his voice was, pinching the bridge of your nose.

"Ethan, I'm sorry, my boss wants me to work late tonight and I have no way of getting out. You know how important for me it is to impress him." Your boss walked past the glass of your office, looking in and sharing a nod with you, his eyebrows raised at the phone in your hand.

"You know what's important to me?" You'd never heard him so angry, it made you nervous because you hated the thought that Ethan may leave you one day. He was all you had, after moving away from everything you knew to live with him.

"What?" You asked, a lot calmer than before, hoping to relieve some tension.

"It's important to me that I spend my three year anniversary with my girlfriend." Your mouth fell open, your eyes going to the calendar across the room. And, sure enough, circled in a big red circle was '3RD ANNIVERSARY'.

Ethan, I-" but he hung up, leaving you speechless and feeling as guilty as ever.
