Phil's P.O.V.

Mrs Harrow and Officer Briny left a couple of hours later, leaving Chris, PJ and Louise with us. Jay had been mucking around on her phone for the most part but she was still listening to our conversations even if it appeared like she wasn't.

Neither Chris or PJ were going to Vidcon, they were both busy with work and family and some other stuff, so that might have been the last time we were going to see them for a few weeks. Once we had exhausted the topic of YouTube we got onto what we had been up to recently, although we knew what Louise had been doing since she seemed to have been in our house almost everyday.

Baby Glitter was doing fine, she had gone to stay with her dad for a little while, leaving Louise to help us with Jay, even though it didn't take much.

Around 6 Louise volunteered to go out to the supermarket to get something for dinner because it didn't appear that we had a lot of food left, and Dan went with her. Chris and PJ had said before that they weren't going to stay for dinner, so once Louise and Dan made their way out the door, they followed, saying that they would see us again soon.

Just before Dan left I whispered to him,

"Hey Dan, if you find another drawing pad could you get it please? And possibly some decent pencils? Jay's almost run out of room in the other one." It was true, she had also been drawing in the time we had been talking together and I was sure there wasn't a spare page left.

He nodded before turning and closing the door behind the four of them, who all traipsed down the stair together.

Jay was lying on the couch, she hadn't moved since she had gone to talk to Dan all those hours ago.

"Phil?"

"Yeah?"

"Can I have some water please?" I filled a glass from the kitchen and made my way back to the living room, only to find her sitting up again and reaching over to plug her phone into the wall, even though the charger was more than an arms reach away.

"Here I'll do it." I handed her the glass and took the phone, which was on about 30% battery, and plugged it in.

"Do you want to watch some tv?"

"Why not."

There wasn't much on, just the news and some game show that Jay rolled her eyes at, giving me a good indication that she didn't like it, so I left it on the news.

We had just missed the weather but from what the guys was saying, it was going to be quite and windy and rainy day tomorrow, surprise, surprise. There was something else about a guy in a car crash earlier that day, out on the motorway, which was a long way away from the house, because it turned to some more major news.

"Today we can officially report that Javen White, father of two, has been released on bail after serving only 5 years of his 36 year sentence. He was released for apparent good behaviour and is now leaving the country to start a new life, and track down his children, who were both placed up for adoption after his arrest." I didn't hear the rest of what she was saying, I just looked over at Jay, who was sitting, frozen.

"No, no, no, no, no, no, no... this is not good, this is not good." She was muttering under her breath, her eyes fixed on screen as she continued to mutter.

I could hear the thoughts running through my head, this was not good, this was really not good. Her father was out, and tracking down his children, her and her brother who we didn't know.

"Jay? Jay can you hear me?" She was shaking, her eyes wide with shock. I pulled her close and into a massive hug, refusing to let go of her. She started to cry and I let her, knowing that this was the last thing she expected to happen. He was ment to be serving 36 years for gods sake!

"Why? Why now? Just as thought things were getting better!" She wailed, clinging to my t-shirt.

I heard the door open and Dan and Louise, both carrying supermarket bags, walked into the living room. Both were talking and laughing, but as soon as they saw me and Jay, they froze. Before they could even say anything, I spoke first.

"Jay's father's out on bail. He's trying to track down his children." Dan let out a gasp before almost dropping the bags on the floor, and he would have if Louise hadn't made a grab for them.

Louise gave me a curious look but I shook my head, indicating to Jay, who was still curled up in my chest.

"Jay, I'm just gonna go and talk to the others okay." She gave a little nod before I pulled myself away and headed to the kitchen, trailing by Dan and Louise.

As soon as we were out of earshot and the door was closed, Dan rounded on me, his eyes wide with worry.

"What the hell happened? How did you know?"

"There was a news report, he only served 5 of the 36 years and he's out on bail. He's trying to track down his children and he's moved out of New Zealand. They said he's left the country." Louise was looking between the two of us, from Dan to me, me to Dan.

"What don't I know? I thought her parents were dead."

"No, her mum's still in jail from what I can gather and she has a brother that we know nothing about. He was placed up for adoption around the same time that she was, but I think he might still be in Australia, at least thats where he last was." Dan continued on for me.

"Her dad was arrested for sexual assault and abuse of a minor, Jay doesn't remember any of it as far as we know. We thought he was going to be in jail for a long, long time more." Louise was still looking between us, eyes as round as saucers.

"But how can the government do this? Surely they wouldn't let him of the country?"

"I don't know, the only way he'd be allowed to leave, is if- is if he wasn't native to New Zealand. He has a different country's citizenship doesn't he." It had suddenly dawned on me, once he was released he would be deported back to his own country. I swore to myself, if he was originally from London- he was. Jay's grandmother lived in London.

"Her grandmother. She lived in London before she died. Thats his mother isn't it. He's coming back to London."
