Jay's P.O.V.

It was New Year's Eve and both Dan and Phil's parents were coming around for a little while. I knew Phil's parents were going to stay in the guest room and Dan's parents were going to stay at a hotel.

Earlier on we had been discussing what would happened when Phoenix was born, and Dan and Phil had insisted that once I was well enough that I would focus on school instead of on him.

They had already offered to take on most of the duties to do with Phoenix once he was born and his bassinet was first going to go in their room. Once he was old enough to be moved to his own room the Dan's room was going to be converted into his room and Dan would move all of his stuff into Phil's room, making it a shared room.

I was glad that they were thinking forward, after all I felt like I couldn't do it on my own. I couldn't think out my future anymore, everything felt wrong when I thought ahead because I couldn't see a future for myself. It was just black.

I jumped when I heard the doorbell ring and listened as I heard heavy footsteps almost running down the hall and then the door opened, loud voices of happiness echoing throughout the house. Both Dan and Phil had been upstairs, editing I assumed, and had both run down the stairs to say hello.

I was on the couch, lying on my side with a under my stomach to support it, and I pushed myself into a sitting position, supporting myself with a hand either side of myself. It was even harder now to move around because of my stomach and I hardly wore my prosthetic anymore, because it was too difficult to use.

I mostly just used my crutches instead to get around, but doing things like getting up the stairs or even sitting up on occasion was too difficult and I had to ask for help. I leaned down to the side to grab my crutches and pushed myself to my feet, heading towards the door.

I was half way across the room when Phil entered it, grinning at me.

"Everyone's here, you don't need to get up or anything." I shrugged. He smiled again and held out his hands, helping me back to the couch. "They've bought in a car seat and cot and everything by the way, it's gonna go in Dan's room for now until we sort everything out."

I nodded, back on the couch and in a more comfortable position. It was easier to lie down than sit up but it was the best thing for now, especially with people coming and I would probably be expected to talk so lying down wouldn't be the best.

"We're just going to get everything upstairs and then come down okay." I nodded, adjusting my position again.

A couple of minutes later I heard footsteps and talking coming down the stairs and Dan and Phil both came around the door first, Dan looking behind him at his parents and Phil's parents who were standing just outside the room. Phil smiled at me before turning back to the people outside.

"Come on in guys." Dan flopped down on the couch beside me and I automatically leaned my head down onto his shoulder as something of a habit.

I saw the two sets of parents enter the room and they both sat down on separate couches, Phil sitting down next to who I assumed were his parents. I didn't know who was who but I was just guessing, considering Phil was now leaning his head onto his mums shoulder.

Dan's mum nodded towards me.

"Hi, you must be Jay?" I nodded my head, looking around at everyone else. "I'm Dan's mum." I looked over at everyone else, now working out who was who. Phil was leaned up against his mum and his dad on the other side of the room and Dan's dad was sat beside his mum.

I shifted a little bit again, Dan raising his shoulder so I could lean against his arm a little bit better. Dan's mum smiled at him but I closed my eyes, rubbing them fiercely and tiredly, trying not to fall asleep. Dan must have picked up on it because he pulled a blanket up off the floor and placed it over me, covering pretty much all of me and my head.

I yawned, closing my eyes. Dan started bouncing his knee and it created a rocking motion, almost sending me off to sleep in a few minutes.

"Is she doing okay?" One of the mums asked.

"Yeah, she's struggling to get around and stuff like that, but she's otherwise doing okay we think." That was Phil, his voice a little muffled, but that was probably because one of my ears was covered by Dan's arm.

"That's good, what about her family though? You've not mentioned anything else about them."

"You know her dad's dead, her brother is fostered out somewhere in Australia and doesn't want to find his family and her mother is still in prison I think? She isn't allowed to see her children again, so her family isn't a problem anymore." I heard a sigh of relief from one of the fathers.

"It sounds like everything's going good... I hope you're prepared to deal with a new-born though." Dan snorted, shaking me a little.

"Oh dear god... probably not, but we're going to do our best. It's gonna be difficult."

"Yes it will be, but you've done amazing. You've given her a stable home and now you're going to give her baby a good home." I felt Dan nod.

"That was what we first thought when we met her, we want to give her a good home but I suppose we just didn't expect another one along with her." There was a low laugh from one of the dads, picking up the humour in it.

"I suppose you've just got to deal with it now, after all it was her choice to keep the baby wasn't it?" There was another nod from Dan.

"It was completely her choice, there was no way we'd put her through something she didn't want to go through, and that goes both ways." I knew he was talking about the decision to abort the baby or not, if I hadn't wanted to go through with the pregnancy. For me there had been no question of which choice I was going to make, as I could never have an abortion myself.

Phil spoke up.

"I think it's just a waiting game, we've just got to wait until the baby's born now."
