The Doctor uses his sonic screwdriver on a gate in the wire mesh fencing.

"Ood shift eight now commencing. Repeat. Ood shift eight now commencing" the Doctor, {Y/N} and Donna watch the Ood marching through in double file from an upper catwalk. One at the back falls down.

"Get up. I said get up" the man cracks a whip.

"Servants? They're slaves" Donna says.

"Get up! March."

"Last time we met the Ood, we never thought. We never asked" {Y/N} says.

"That's not like you."

"We were busy. So, busy we couldn't save them. We had to let the Ood die. We reckon we owe them one" the Doctor says,

"That looks like the boss" Donna says.

"Let's keep out of his way. Come on" {Y/N} says, a while later Donna stops by a door with {Y/N} bumping into her, the Doctor walks on. Donna puts two fingers into her mouth and blows.

"Where'd you learn to whistle?" the Doctor asks walking to them.

"West Ham, every Saturday" {Y/N} unlocks the door and inside It is full of shipping containers.

"Ood export. You see? Lifts up the containers, takes them to the rocket sheds, ready to be flown out all over the three galaxies" {Y/N} says.

"What, you mean, these containers are full of?"

"What do you think?" the Ood are standing silently.

"Oh, it stinks. How many of them do you think there are in each one?"

"Hundred? More?" the Doctor says.

"A great big empire built on slavery" Donna says.

"It's not so different from your time" {Y/N} says.

"Oi. I haven't got slaves."

"Who do you think made your clothes?"

"Is that why you two travel round with a human at your side? It's not so you can show them the wonders of the universe, it's so you can take cheap shots?"

"Sorry."

"Don't, Spaceman. I don't understand, the door is open, why don't you just run away?" Donna asks looking at the Ood.

"For what reason?"

"You could be free."

"I do not understand the concept."

"What is it with that Persil ball? I mean, they're not born with it, are they? Why do they have to be all plugged in?"

"Ood, tell me. Does the circle mean anything to you?" {Y/N} asks.

"The circle must be broken" all the Ood say.

"Oh, that is creepy."

"But what is it? What is the circle?"

"The circle must be broken."

"Why?"

"So that we can sing" suddenly an alarm sounds.

"Oh, that's us. Come on" the Doctor says as the three, start running, after running for a few minutes Donna stops running.

"{Y/N}, Doctor, there's a door" she says as the door opens and guards enter.

"Don't move!" the Doctor and {Y/N} are further away.

"Where've you gone?" the Doctor asks.

"Stay where you are."

"Keep her in there for now."

"Get off me. Get off me!" the Doctor and {Y/N} move from their spot.

"Donna? Where are you?" {Y/N} shouts.

"All guards withdraw."

"Sir?"

"I said withdraw. Keep to the perimeter. I've got these two. I've always wanted to do this" the Doctor and {Y/N} start running as the man actives the claw that was in his hands moves the containers, and chases the two Time Lords with it. The man soon catches up and knocks {Y/N} down with the claw, then sends it down towards her. Suddenly, it stops. The women takes the key from the controls.

"You heard the instructions. Mister Halpen wants them alive" {Y/N} sighs and looks up at the Doctor, a while later two guards are marching the Doctor and {Y/N} away.

"{Y/N}, Doctor, get me out of here" Donna shouts from one of the containers.

"If you don't do what she says, you're really in trouble. Not only from me, but from her as well" {Y/N} says.

"Unlock the container" a man unlocks the container and Donna runs out.

"{Y/N}, Doctor."

"There we go, safe and sound" the Doctor says.

"Never mind about me. What about them?" Donna says looking towards the Ood who kills the guard by the container door

"Red alert. Fire!" Ood come out of other containers "shoot to kill" while the guards fire their guns, the Doctor, {Y/N}, Donna and Solana run outside.

"If people back on Earth knew what was going on here" Donna says.

"Oh, don't be so stupid. Of course, they know."

"They know how you treat the Ood?"

"They don't ask. Same thing."

"Solana, the Ood aren't born like this. They can't be. A species born to serve could never evolve in the first place. What does the company do to make them obey?" the Doctor says.

"That's nothing to do with me."

"Oh, what, because you don't ask?" {Y/N} asks.

"That's Doctor Ryder's territory."

"Where's he? What part of the complex? We could help with the red eye. Now show us."

"There. Beyond the red section."

"Come with us. You've seen the warehouse. You can't agree with all this. You know this place better than us. You could help."

"They're over here! Guards! They're over here" the Doctor, {Y/N} and Donna run off.

"This way" the Doctor says as they arrive at a door.

"Oh, can you hear it? We didn't need the map. We should have listened" {Y/N} says as she sonics the door lock.

"Hold on. Does that mean we're locked in?"

"Listen. Listen, listen, listen, listen" {Y/N} says "oh, my head."

"What is it?" Donna asks placing her hand on {Y/N}'s shoulder.

"Can't you hear it? The singing?" groups of Ood are sitting in cages. They turn away from the Doctor, {Y/N} and Donna.

"They look different to the others" Donna says.

"That's because they're natural born Ood, unprocessed, before they're adapted to slavery. Unspoilt. That's their song" the Doctor says.

"I can't hear it" Donna says.

"Do you want to?" {Y/N} asks.

"Yeah."

"It's the song of captivity" the Doctor says from behind {Y/N}.

"Let me hear it" Donna says.

"Face me" {Y/N} says as she makes a mind meld with Donna "open your mind. That's it. Hear it, Donna. Hear the music" the song is sad and beautiful. Donna starts crying.

"Take it away" she says.

"Sure?"

"I can't bear it" {Y/N} disconnects her from the telepathic field.

"I'm sorry" {Y/N} says.

"It's okay."

"But you two can still hear it."

"All the time."
