Forth's POV

Of course i was confused when Beam literally jumped in my arms when i didn't expect him to. I have been courting Beam ever since he enrolled into the school but this is the first time he actually responded to my advances. There is something so enchanting about the short feisty junior of mine. However it didn't seem to be mutual. We always found each other in the crowd but he just saw it as an annoying coincidence, whilst i knew the true reason. The reason why i stopped chasing girls and spend all my free time and attention on Beam. I was almost 100% sure he was my destined one.

It did hurt however, i fell in love with Beam instantly. Even if Beam wasn't my signer he is someone everyone could get infatuated by, too bad all his attention was focused on his best friend. The irony, i was in love with Beam who didn't ever come in my reach whilst he was in love with his best friend who could not see the love in Beam's eyes. All that pain dissapeared however when i saw those emotions i longed for all this time in Beam's teary dark chocolate eyes.

Looking around for a private place to talk, i took him outside to a little park area close to the building we were in. Our campus is ginormeous, we have parks, restaurants, gardens, shops, a blacksmith, multiple libraries, labratories, we even have a freaking observatory. But you can't expect less from Thailand's best and biggest school revolving around magic, and in today's society, magic means a lot.

I helped Beam sit down on the grass and i sat right in front of his with my legs crossed. I grabbed one of his hands in mine and used my other to wipe away the tears rolling down his cheeks gently. He was still crying and i don't know how to soothe him, but i want to prove him that i can be there for him when he needs me.

"Beam? What happened, what made you cry like this?" I tilted his head up by his chin so he would look me in the eyes, however he immediately tried to look somewhere else.

"I-it's n-nothing Forth."

"Don't tell me it's nothing. Beam i know you, you're a tough rock to break, so please just tell me."

"Ugh!" Beam sniffed and wiped his face furiously, the tears seemingly stopped and he seemed slightly annoyed or angry now. "Your stupid cousin made me confess my feelings to Kit and i got rejected."

"Ming?" I might need to thank him later.

"Who else?"

"Hey Hey! I was just asking for confirmation. Jeez."

"I don't understand why i went with you, i'll just go." He tried to stand up but i pulled him back down and gave him a look to let him know we are staying like this until we finished talking.

"So you got rejected, big deal. You've been rejecting me for more than a year so i don't see the problem. The problem is that instead of chasing him you just gave up. That is saying something Beam."

"What is it saying? That i'm weak? That i have no chance? That-"

"That he is not your Signer!" I interupted him and stated firmly.

"W-wha?"

"Admit it Beam, even you can tell he isn't your destined one. If he was you would fight for him with your life. Instead you just gave up. Beam, we always end up together, you feel the pull towards me, the warmth when we touch. But why are you denying yourself that happiness! Why can't you give me a chance!" This all came out way harsher than i meant to say but i guess it's just all the emotions and frustations that i bottled up for so long finally coming out.

"F-forth i-it, no i-i." Beam's anger was gone but mine was very apparent, Beam was now radiating fear and guilt. I can sense it, with certain emotions or feelings, specific parts of the body reach different temperatures, with my magic it is very easy to pick up on someone's body temperature. Combine that with traits, habits and facial expressions and you can basically read everything about a person's mood.
