Let's chat about season 8 and the end of Voltron... Soooo actually not only did I hate Allurance, I also just hated Allura as a character, and I even started to really get sick of Voltron after season 7, but I liked season 8 and didn't really mind Allurance either.. Unpopular opinion as a Klancer I know haha. I know that they really wrote out the Allurance love story poorly, like really bad, but I think they fixed it in the end because Allura was actually sacrificing shit for Lance instead of it constantly being the other way around, and that made me feel a bit better. At first I was really angry because in the very first episode it was all about Allurance when I came to watch Voltron and they even had the audacity to throw in some Klance chemistry which really felt like queer baiting, and I think that is still valid but I just don't have the energy to stay angry. There are so many people still ranting and raving, coming up with theories and explanations and leaks of truth, but I just can't be bothered. It's over. I feel wholesome after finishing my favourite show and seeing my beloved characters grow up, I don't need Klance to be cannon and that doesn't mean I can't just appreciate the idea of the ship without bashing the show. It just makes me feel rotten to listen to all these people complaining when it's not going to solve anything, it will just ruin the mood. The tea is that the original writers wanted Klance and Shallura, then there was an abrupt change with new writers and spontaneous plans, I'm sure you've all heard about that god awful mess and if not it's all over twitter and instagram, and I have also provided some screenshots. Interns and other unhappy workers have been spilling goss, including that behind the scenes was just a dating sim for Allura and that the vld crew grew to hate Klancers so much that they did this to punish them.
