Chapter 40

Jessica's POV

June 4th, 2021

I'm back in Manchester for the first time since the attack. We're having a benefit concert today & everyone who was at the original show that can be here, is here & then some.

We got some incredible people joining us today, and I couldn't be more happy to have them. Let's see, we got Katy, Miley, Pharrell, my tour mates Victoria & Little Mix, Niall, Stevie Wonder aka legend, Black Eyed Peas, and so many others.

I'm about to go on. I've never been so nervous. Thank god people have gone before me, I definitely couldn't open the show.

"You okay?" Justin asks.

"Yeah, just nervous."

"You got this, baby. Deep breaths."

I take it in, and let it out. I give Justin a kiss before I get myself out there with my dancers.

I do "Be Alright" & "Break Free". It was hard not to bawl my eyes out. Seeing everyone makes my heart fucking burst.

I went off stage while Little Mix performed.

"Oh my god, that was nerve wrecking." I say to Justin.

"You did good, though!"

"I did? I didn't sound off? It was hard not to cry."

"Yes, baby. You were great."

I went back on to sing with my good friend Victoria Monét & the Black Eyed Peas, which is crazy because I grew up listening to them.

One of my all time favorites, Imogen Heap is here & it's a dream. I'm so grateful. I then went onto perform "My Everything", which tonight has a much different meaning.

Justin then came on and we did "The Way" together. The crowd is at its loudest. I love singing this song with him. It brings me back to when we first met & when I fell in love with him. It will never not be one of my most favorite songs I have ever written.

My queen, Miley, literally, she was known as Hannah Montana to my for so long, did a cover of "Don't Dream It's Over".

I got it on with "Side to Side", before Justin took the stage by himself.
