"Sobo, watashi ni shio o watasu, [grandma, pass me the salt,]"

I pointed over to the salt container sitting on the counter, on my grandma's left. She nods, her eyes on her cooking while one hand distractedly hovers over the salt container, passing it over to me.

I added the salt to my dish, a pinch due to my grandma's wonderful teaching skills on the specifics of creating this dish. As my grandma focused on making chuka-soba, a dish similar to the Chinese's ramen, I focused on making the small meals.

I wanted to make something my dad liked, and so, the idea came for tonkatsu. I remembered my dad mentioned he carved tonkatsu a while back, but grandma couldn't make it due to the extensive requirement of deep-frying (she hates oil that flies everywhere), so I decided to take the chance today.

"Sore o ima no komugiko de kōto suru, [coat it in flour now,]" my grandma points to my dish, and I nodded. I drew a handful of flour from the bag and sprinkle it over the food, evenly distributing over the pork. I then dipped the pork in eggs, and then into bread crumbs.

I decided to repeat it two more times, earning a total of three large pieces of pork in total. I then place them onto a metal pan, and walked over to the oven. I pulled out a large pan, and add extensive vegetable oil into the mix. I dropped a piece of the pork on the pan, and begin waiting.

The sound of oil stinging and flying in every direction made me understand why my grandma wouldn't want to make such dish. However, for today's special event, I had to subdued.
