The sensation of falling consumed you. You looked around, every glimpse filled with the same black, empty void. Just as you were about to ask yourself where you could possibly be, the darkness changed, taking on a greyish hue. Something in the back of your head urged you to look beneath yourself. Curiosity getting the better of you, you gave into the urge. Turning around, you stared, unsure of what you were seeing. It seemed like some sort of golden light emitting from something in the distance. Closing your eyes you felt the cold air rush past you as you kept on falling. The fall came to a sudden stop as you plunged into a sea of gold. It felt warm and familiar. You hesitantly opened your eyes, the golden water not seeming to affect your eyes at all. It felt as if your lungs had suddenly adapted to breathing in water. Not giving it a second thought, you started swimming deeper. The longer you kept going, the more the depth seemed to swallow you, causing a sense of unease to run through you. You weren't quite sure why you dived deeper at all, but something pulled you in. Almost demanding. Before you had come to notice, the sea had lost its golden colour . You stopped swimming, looking around. A little distance away, you spotted a small golden orb floating harmlessly. Its gold colour contrasted sharply with the dark sea. You swam towards it, something drawing you closer to it. You reached out for it, the moment your fingers brushed against it, the whole sea seemed to become a whirl pool. The orb absorbing you and the sea into it.
Your vision cleared again, revealing an old, familiar memory. You watched the memory unfold like a movie. Your younger self stared up at your dad with large eyes. He knelt down in front of you, holding your hand. "Dad, do you have to go?", your voice was filled with the innocence that all small children had. Every word brimming with some sort of wonder. He smiled at you. "Princess, I'll always be in your heart okay? I want you to believe deep in your heart that you are capable of achieving anything you set your mind to, that you will never lose, you either win or learn. Just go forth and aim for the skies. I can't promise to be here for the rest of your life, but I can promise to love you for the rest of mine", he kissed your forehead. A smile reached your lips; a strong feeling of nostalgia cradling you.
A deep yearning unfolded within in your chest, making you reach out for your dad, craving his comforting fatherly touch. Your hand passed through him as if he were water, little ripples forming from where your hand had went through him. The memory started flickering, like a light bulb about to fuse. Without warning you were roughly yanked back, away from the memory and into a dark, cold sea. You were hauled through the sea at a surreal speed, a billion terrifying memories passing by you. The memories seemed to close in around you, brushing against your skin, whispering furiously into your ears, becoming sharp like knives and leaving gashes. It felt as if something was pressing on your chest, the water filling your lungs. You choked for air, your lungs burning for oxygen.

You frantically gasped out for air, your eyes snapping wide open in the process. Your eyes darted around in panic. It took your vision a few moments to focus. Blowing air through your lips, you were washed over by a sense of relief. You were not in a dark sea of memories but only on a solid, dry floor. The relief only lasted for a moment as you came to realize that the floor wasn't much better than the sea of memories.
