You closed the door behind you, leaning against it to regain yourself. Your gaze swept around your room. You were trapped. You were trapped in here with a bunch of psychopaths. Crazy, heartless monsters.
The air in your airways suddenly seemed to get stuck. Your lungs refused to work properly. Trapped. With no way out, or else your family would die. The rain had slowly started to fall. It was subtle at first, yet it became audibly stronger by the minute.
You strode towards the window, climbing on top of the table and carelessly flung your clothes to the side. You wrenched the window wide open and climbed onto the "window seat" - which was actually the just the very broad wall. Grabbing onto the frame, you stuck your head out of the window. Could you survive the drop? The ground beneath you seemed to spiral towards you. You gasped for air, pushing yourself back inside, leaning against the wall.
Tears stung at your eyes as your breaths came in ragged and shaky. Trapped. Trapped again. Your lip quivered as you tried to hold back the sob. Big girls didn't cry. You furiously wiped away at the tears that had stated to spill over. Big girls didn't cry. No matter how many times you repeated those words to yourself, you shook with sobs. You didn't know what to do. This was a hopeless situation. You were going to die either way. Either Shigaraki would kill you or your quirk would. "Dad", you choked out, "I tried so hard, dad. Why does this keep happening to me?". You swallowed hard. "I wish you were here to help me", you muttered quietly. You knew exactly what your father would say to that. "Save your tears, Y/N. You're stronger than that. Pick yourself up and carry on. No one is going to be able to save you except for yourself. Trust her. Believe that she will be strong enough. And, sweetheart, never forget that if life requires you to walk through hell, my princess, walk as if you own the place".
Your father had never been one for self- pity and giving up. Understandably, he had known what giving up looked like, felt like. Self-pity didn't get anyone anywhere, either. You used to think his words were harsh and cold, but he was right. What else could one do but pick themselves up and carry on?
You stuck out your hand, feeling the cool raindrops hit your skin. The sensation spread across your arm, relaxing you and clearing your mind somewhat. You inhaled the scent of the rain. Okay, so . . . Shigaraki wanted you to get a plane ticket. Pulling your hand back, you stared at the droplets. Well then, time to get a professional.
Standing in front of the door, you raised your hand to knock, yet were internally conflicted. Should you knock? Should you turn around and walk away? Kick down the door and commit arson?
You sighed, bringing your fist against the door and knocking several times. There were a few long moments of silence and stillness. You cleared your throat uncomfortably. "Uhm, hello . . . it's the new sacrificial lamb. Uh sorry, I meant the new enslaved cult member".
It took a few more seconds of silence before the door finally opened and you were met with a pair of turquoise eyes. "You, again", he stated, annoyed. You nodded once. "It would seem so".
"Do you have nothing better to do than annoy me?", he glared down at you. You raised an eyebrow at him. "Well, you know what they say", you mumbled, "beggars can't be choosers". He sighed, turning around. "Go away. I don't have money". You frowned at him. "What? No - that's not what I - you weren't supposed to take that literally", you pushed against the door he had started closing, "I'm not actually a homeless person asking for money". He groaned, turning around to face you. "What is it that you want?", he folded his arms, "I'm not your friend so I don't even know why you're coming to me in the first place". You pressed your tongue against your cheek in annoyance. "I don't know what you're talking about. I was ready to make friendship bracelets for each other".
