"Let's drink some moooore~!"

"(Y/N)-chan, you shouldn't drink so much... You're already drunk enough."

I watched as (Y/N) chugged down another bottle of beer, still asking for even more.

"Yeeeees, you're right, (Y/N)-chan! Let's drink more!!"

"nqrse, don't cheer her on!!"

"I'd drink one too~"

"Soraru-san..."

I sighed.
I was clearly annoyed at both of them.
Couldn't they take responsibility as grown adults?

"(Y/N), it's enough. We're going."

"But Arakiiiii~!"

"No. Come on, let's go."

"Bye-bye (Y/N)-chaaan!", the other two males slurred.

"Bye-byyyyeee!"

Walking home, we had to stop several times because the female beside me had to throw up all of a sudden.
Being her best friend, I stayed by her side, lifting her hair and patting her back.

"It's okay, just let it out."

"I'm so sorry, Araki..."

"It's fine, don't worry."

When she was ready we continued our way home, stopping occasionally to look at the beautiful scenery of leaves falling down in an aesthetic manner.

The next time we stopped, I got the urge to just tell her how I felt.
She only saw me as a best friend - I knew that.
She was always talking about other guys, so I knew I didn't have a chance.

But I had to tell her.
If not now then when?
So I closed my eyes, gathered all my courage and took a deep breath.

"(Y/N), listen, I have something to tell you-"

I opened my eyes and saw that she was already running off, following someone's dog which had a neon band on.
I sighed yet again, running after her to prevent her from doing something stupid.

"(Y/N)!! I know you're drunk, so please stay by my side, okay!?"

I forcefully pulled her by the wrist, making her stumble backwards into my chest.
She turned her head, gazing up into my eyes.
I stared down at her, still not releasing her wrist.

"Araki...?"

She tilted her head, putting on puppy-eyes.

How could I resist her if she was acting like this?

I leaned down, carefully placing my lips on hers, connecting them in a soft kiss.
She didn't return the kiss, just stood there with widened eyes.

"I'm sorry, (Y/N). I love you."

"E-Eh? Ahaha, you're funny, Araki! Let's go home, okay?"

She pulled back from my embrace, grinning at me.

"Yes... Let's get you home."

In the next morning, I immediately got up and visited my best friend, making sure she was okay after I put her to bed the day before.
I had her drink some water just in case, but I was still worried.

Getting ready, I surpressed the embarrassment of last night's words and made my way to her home.

"Hello? (Y/N)...?"

Using my key to her appartment I entered quietly in case she was still asleep but found her sitting on the couch, head in hand and rubbing her temples.

"Are you alright?"

"Yes, I think so... Ugh, how much did I drink yesterday...?"

"You, nqrse and Soraru-san really had something going. I got you out of there, though, and brought you home. I'm sorry I didn't change your clothes before putting you to sleep, but I thought it was better to just let you be."

"Thanks, Araki... Really, I mean it. Hey, uhm... Did I do something stupid yesterday? Or did I miss something?"

"You- Well... You were running after a dog because it had a neon necklace on."

"I did what!?"

I chuckled at her cute fuss about nothing.

"Also... I told you something yesterday but you just laughed it off."

"Really? I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to! Well, what did you say?"

Did she really not remember anything at all?

"I confessed to you."

"Haha, confessed what? That you stole my last cookie?", she grinned, not getting the seriousness of my words.

"That I love you."

"Haha, I see- Wait. What?"

Now it was my turn to smirk at her, amused at the surprised look in her eyes.

"Y-You love me?"

"Yes, I do."

"And you told me while I was drunk!?"

"Well, yes, I did, but-"

"You're such an idiot! I would have totally given you an answer if I wasn't drunk!"

"Okay, then I'll say it again. I love you, (Y/N) (L/N)."

"I love you too! Didn't you notice!?"

"How should I have noticed when all you were talking about were some other guys?"

"Ugh, you seriously give me a headache."

She jumped up from the sofa, tackling me against the wall and smashed her lips on mine.
I was shocked at first but quickly processed the situation and moved my lips in sync.

When we parted, we both took a deep breath.

"Now my best friend owns my first kiss!", she smiled.

"Actually, I already kissed you yesterday night."

"Eh- You did what!?"
