"A good friend is like a four leafed clover...hard to find and lucky to have."

-Irish Proverb

The Cullen house was peaceful, quiet, which was unusual for a building full of Vampires.

A pixie-like girl flitted around the room, dusting off the top of a grand piano, which a pale, teenage-looking boy was playing a soft melody. Suddenly, the music in the room dissipated, and all heads jerked in the direction of the pixie like women. She had a blank look on her face, and her unusual eyes were glazed over.

As quickly as the trance began, it ended, and the women's eyes cleared, a large smile on her face.

"What did you see, Alice?" The eldest in the room, Carlisle Cullen, asked the girl. She let out a tiny spell of laughter, shaking her head and turning to the blonde boy on the armchair. He cocked his eyebrow, pursing his lips in amusement as Alice chuckled.

"What?" He demanded, and the Alice's eyes gleamed. "Courtney Swan."

"Cordie? What the hell is a Cordie?" The biggest in the room demanded, gaining an eye-roll from the blonde beauty beside him.

"No dipshit, Courtney." The pianist rolled his eyes.

"What is so special about this Courtney girl, Alice?" A female with dark brown hair asked, although she already predicted the answer.

"Jazz?" Alice turned to the blond boy, who was no-longer smiling. "When I tell you this, you need to promise to not freak out..."

Jasper leaned back in his chair, before leaning forward again. "Okay." He finally answered, licking his lips. "I promise."

Alice's eyes gleamed. "La tua cantante."

A lot of things happened at once, Edward jumped up, the chair making a screeching noise as it dragged on the polished floor. Esme gasped, backing up slightly into Carlisle. Emmett and Rosalie traded looks, and averted their gazes. Jasper himself however, just froze in his spot, his eyes narrowed.

"Jazz..." Alice began again. "Jasper... I know how hard this will be for you, how hard it already is, but-"

"No Alice." Jasper interrupted, his voice still steely calm. "You have no idea what it is like. None of you do. None of you know how hard it is to be in physical pain." He gritted his teeth. "Everyday of the year. And this will be worse! How am I supposed to be in love if I have to resist the urge to kill my soulmate every day of the year? Huh? Is that something yours visions can answer, because I can't calm myself down."

With a final shaky breath, Jasper disappeared from the room.

"I'm sorry guys." Alice felt terrible. Not for telling Jasper that his soulmate was coming, but how hard it will be for him to cope with it. He will love this girl. That is not something that he can suppress. That is fate, and fate will push them together no matter the circumstance. That wasn't the worst of it. Alice saw herself being close to Courtney. They would be something of best friends. So will Alice just be putting Jasper through more trouble by the inevitable happening? This girl is going to be an adventure all on her own. She is beautiful, in a less obvious way then society is used too. And she will love Jasper, so strongly that nothing could tear them apart.

Alice just hopes that she won't tear her family apart in the process.

When Alice first met Courtney, she thought that maybe she wasn't as fantastic as her vision foretold.

She was tall, very tall for her age and gender, and her dark hair fell down to her shoulder blades. Alice could tell that she was apprehensive about the school, and saw Edwards mate, her sister, leave her on her own.

Alice nudged Jasper, and pointed in her direction. She saw her brother's eyes darken considerably, before returning to his normal topaz shade. His face flushed red, and Alice could tell that he was having an internal battle with his emotions.

"I am gonna go talk to her."

Jasper gave her a "Are you out of your mind?" look, before nodding curtly and walking in the opposite direction.

Alice took a deep breath and approached the girl herself.

Right when Alice saw Jasper and Courtney enter the cafeteria that day, she knew that he was warming up to her. He smiled whenever she spoke, and looked at her with adoration in his eyes. He did love her, although she also saw that his eye were a shade darker then usual, and he clenched his teeth.

Lunch went by smoothly. Alice was pleased that the rest of her family seemed to like Courtney as much as she does. Even Rosalie, which was a shock to everybody at the table. She usually hates humans that can get in between her family...

Looks like an exception was made.

After Courtney was dragged away by Isabella, Alice leaned in, putting her elbows on the table so she could see all of her siblings. "So?" She asked expectantly, raising her eyebrow.

The table was silent for a few moments, before Emmett shrugged. "I like her... she's cool."

"Yeah." Rosalie nodded, cocking one perfect eyebrow. "What do you think Jasper?"

Everyone at the table turned their heads to the blonde boy, who, if it were possible, would be blushing bright scarlet. "I like her." He finally mumbled, so low that only the vampires could make it out. Alice cheered, jumping up and dancing over so she could hug her brother. "Why don't you tell everyone how much you like her." Edward's face bore a teasing smirk as he heard his brothers thoughts.

Jasper growled slightly, but answered because he didn't want his family to hear it from Edward.

"It was just..." He clenched his teeth. "It hurt a lot at first... but then the thirst kind of... disappeared."

Rosalie furrowed her eyebrows, "disappeared?"

"Well, yeah. I mean, it was like the beginning of class was horrible... I mean she was right next to me." Alice wrapped her small hand around Jasper's. "But then... she was asked a question, and her answer was just, so unbelievably ridiculous." Jasper chuckled at the memory. "I mean, he asked her the plot of the novel, and she said, 'I dunno, Vegas?' And my heart just melted, and then the thirst was gone."

Emmett laughed, a booming sound that echoed around the cafeteria right as the bell rang. "You broke la tua cantante by thinking that your mate was such a dumbass that it endeared you?"

Rosalie and Alice both reached over to swat at Emmett, but Jasper just grinned. "Sorta."

"Well, if it makes things less awkward for you just know that when you smiled at her, her exact thought was 'damn, if that face was anymore perfect I would jump off a bridge." The whole Cullen family burst into laughter at that.

"Hey! No judging! When we were debating, she said that we were so stupid it made her want to kill herself."

"She really is funny." Alice grinned. "And spunky... her sense of humor is so different from most humans these days."

Jasper beamed, his eyes trained on the door that all of the humans trailed out of. "Yeah... she is."
