"Santa tell me, if you're really there... don't make me fall in love again if he won't be here next year."

-Ariana Grande, Santa Tell Me

"And... one, two, three-"

 "Fuck! My foot!"

"How could that have possibly hurt you?"

I laughed to myself, leaning back in my chair as Sadie and Alice tried and failed to ballroom dance to the Christmas music playing lightly through a speaker. Alice was actually pretty good (no surprise there) but Sadie was... well, she isn't very coordinated.

Translation: she has two left feet and she doesn't know how to use them.

Sadie scowled, hopping on one foot as Alice stepped back to judge her. "This happens every single Christmas, and every single Christmas, you don't learn how to dance."

"Imagine." Emmett teased, walking into the room in his huge, hideously ugly, Christmas sweater. He bought everyone one this year, so that when we all re-convene in Esme and Carlisle's house, we can be "festive." "I am the best dancer here." He struck a pose right as Rosalie walked in. She rolled her eyes, slapping her husbands arm and gracefully walking over to the tree we had set up in the corner, placing a gift under it.

"Ugh, you guys are horrible at wrapping gifts."

 "Tell me about it."

"Holy shit!" Rose jumped in surprise as Clara materialized beside her, her arms crossed as if she was thoughtfully examining the tree. Rose anxiously brushed a piece of hair behind her ear, turning to me. "Please tell your daughter to stop doing that!"

"Why?" I teased, ruffling Clara's hair as she came to sit next to me. "It's quite amusing."

"No, it is scary and rude."

"I see this, and raise you a 'funny and rude.'"

"I am so out of here," the blonde muttered, giving Clara a stern look as she exited, only earning a giggle in response. As soon as Rosalie was out of the door, she burst out laughing. "It's too easy."

 "I heard that!"

I joined my daughter in her laughter, standing up and shoving Sadie out of the way. "I'm taking your place."
