Cassidy's POV:

Once I arrived at the common room, which was nearly empty because of the Hogsmeade trip, I decided to figure out whether it was the right time to tell Ron and Hermione. By the looks of it, I was going to be here a while. They would find out eventually.

Well, I presume the only reason I am staying here is that Dumbledore never mentioned finding a way home for me. But I guess that works out since this is the time I belong in.

Taking out my slip of paper, I began to think of more names and slip little notes of what I would remember to happen during Christmas break.

I really need a notebook or something.

Sitting at my usual spot on the couch, my brain was so jumbled from all the different things I wanted to go over that I barely noticed the trio sit down too.

Glancing up, I attempted to subtly put the paper away, hoping they wouldn't ask about it.

"Sid, what the bloody hell happened in the Three Broomsticks?" Ron asked incredulously.

I let out a breath. I should tell them. Yes, I'll do it. Ahhh, but what if they hate me for lying? Shut, up. Just tell them.

"Ok, well where to start," I begin, "To answer your question, Ron, I had to get in trouble in order to stop their conversation."

They all shared a look of confusion.

I sigh, "Okay, this is going to sound crazy but it's complicated."

Pausing for a minute, I look around and see only two first years playing chess on the other side of the room. And then it's just us four- wait, no five.

     "Ron, give me your rat."

     "What?" He cries.

I stand up from the couch and look around the common room for a box. After some searching, I find a small wooden box on the bookshelf and empty the random items from inside.

Sitting back onto the couch I see the trio all looking deeply bewildered. I look over at Ron and hold out the open box towards him.

"Ron. Give. Me. The. Rat," I demand.

He takes the rat from his pocket and holds it in his arms.

"Scabbers? W-why? What is this animal cruelty?!"

"I won't hurt him I just want to make sure he doesn't hear what I have to say next," I say. Ron raises an eyebrow at me. "Do you want me to tell you what's going on or what?"

He grimaces and skeptically hands me Scabbers. Not even wanting to touch Peter, I snap the box around the rat locking the box shut. I put a charm on it to make it soundproof, allowing no sound to enter the wooden prism.
