You can watch all night knowing it's all for you.

The castle is practically buzzing with energy in the run up to halloween, it was a favourite holiday for most of the students and the excitement was practically radiating to the ones who didn't like it so much.

"Draco!" Emily shouts, she had been walking between Ginny and Seb, on her way back from Hogsmead and thankful for the protection from the cold October winds as she re-entered the castle walls.

Draco turns at the sound of her voice, seeing Emily practically beaming as she turns and says something to her friends before jogging to meet him. Draco is aware of the scowl sent his was by Seb.

"Hello. Good day?" He questions, indicating to the bags of shopping in her hands.

"Yes thanks. Here have a pumpkin pasty," she offers, hand fishing in the Honeydukes bag and passing him the sweet treat which he gladly accepts.

"What are you up to right now?" She questions

"I was just with Theo playing some chess but then  he had to go and write a letter to Pansy and so now I'm on way to go and study,"

"That's an awfully long winded way of saying you are doing nothing. You're coming with me," she instructs

"And where is it we are going?" He questions, he's grinning though, and it's no secret he will happily go wherever she asks him too.

"No idea. But Ginny is going to meet Luna, Hermione is still in hogsmeade with Ron and quite frankly I'd rather spend my evening with you than Seb," she grins

"The quarters?" He suggests, taking the bags from her hands to carry them for her despite her protests.

"The quarters sound good," she agrees with a smile.

They make general small talk as they walk, discussing anything from classes to their friends. There's no pause or uncomfortableness, everything flows perfectly. Like they were meant to be together.

"So, what are your Halloween plans?" Emily questions. They're sat cross legged on either end of the sofa, a pile of sweets from her Honeydukes bag in between them. Casually picking at them and talking.

"Doubt I'll do much. I expect you'll be at this big party everyone is talking about,"

"I will and I think you should come," she announces. He groans, rolling his eyes, the last place Draco wanted to be was a room surrounded by his drunk peers he felt uncomfortable around.

"I promise it'll be good. Ginny and I organised the whole thing. It's in the room of requirement and Aberforth agreed to let people use the secret passage from the hog's head into the room of requirement so loads of people are coming. Harry and Ron are and everyone's allowed to invite anyone from a few years above or our year. It's going to be super fun, loads of drinks so you can get bladdered and not feel awkward. You could invite Pansy and Blaise. Me and Hermione mentioned it at our weekly tea with Professor McGonogall and she's agreed to turn a blind eye so no one will get in any trouble,"

"You really want me to come?" He hated the thought but for her it would be worth it. Anything would.

"I really do. Please Dray?" She questions

"Fine, Theo and I will come and I'll invite Blaise and Pansy," he agrees. She grins brightly.

"Everyone's dressing up, American style of course, so all the girls will look like prostitutes so that'll be fun. Astoria is probably going so you can eye up your future wife and everything,"

The awkward thing was they were so clearly in love with each other. Neither of their feelings had faded and they both knew it but Draco had a responsibility and he would uphold it. They handled the situation differently. Draco not mentioning his betrothed around her and trying to block it from his mind. Emily trying to joke about it to make him see she wasn't uncomfortable.

"Lucky me," he smiles gently, although it doesn't reach his eyes.

"She's very pretty. Oh, Draco, promise to dress up?"

"No way,"

"Please. I promise you I'll wear the most revealing costume I can find just for you and I'll dance all nice and you can watch all night knowing it's all for you," she's speaking with a smirk, the whole thing kind of a joke. She doesn't realise how much Draco wants her to do just that.

"All I have to do is roll my sleeves up and I'd be the scariest one there,"

"Draco!" She scolds, slapping his arm gently.

"Fine I'll dress up," he agrees, rubbing his arm as if it hurt making her roll her eyes.

"Thanks Dray. Room of requirement at 8pm, if you're not there by 9 I'm going to come and find you," she announces.

"I don't doubt it," he laughs, taking a bite of the cauldron cake in his hand mainly to preoccupy himself in the hopes it'll make him want to pin her down underneath him and kiss her a little less. It doesn't work.
