Chapter 6:
Minor dispute
"Congrats!" said Akira.
"Well it was something to be expected...." shrugged Aomine.
"We were also favoured by fate." said Midorima pointedly clutching his lucky item.
Yukiji chuckled. "I don't agree with you completely yet. I've got mine. I suppose the day hasn't been too bad. But I'm still not convinced yet."
"Anyone's being taken for the first string?" questioned Sora.
"No changes in the starters at any rate....." said Aomine.
"There were one or two slightly promising candidates." supplied Akashi. "Coach will probably speak to them soon. We were hoping to increase the reserve strength."
"I see."
There was a minor commotion on one end of the court.
"Oye, first years..... scram!"
It was Haizaki.
"But senpai....."
"Do you want a few broken bones?"
"But...."
"Then fetch."
"Is he actually allowed to order the first years around....." said Sora.
"As if...." said Akashi. He walked over.
"Those who have finished training are free to go. No delays."
"Thank you, senpai....."
After they had dispersed, Akashi continued.
"Refrain from giving unnecessary commands, Haizaki. They aren't obliged to do anything you say.
"What'dya think....." However, he stopped when Akashi turned to face him.
"There have been incidents. Too many. Keep this up and you might find yourself in an uncomfortable situation."
Haizaki said nothing. He rose and left.
"Incidents?" queried Akira.
"Fistfights....." said Aomine.
"Already? Term just began....." said Sora.
"Well, apparently that's no deterrent...." said Akashi who had joined them again.
"Niji-chin's been having a tough time." said Murasakibara.
"Niji-chin?" said Yukiji.
"Nijimura senpai. He's the captain, nanodayo." said Midorima.
"Oi, where's Tetsu..." began Aomine.
"I'm right behind you....." said Kuroko making everyone jump.
"Jeez..... Where were you...."
"I was checking the first years. I don't think there'll be any trouble today."
"So you're sure there'll be no confrontation?" said Akashi.
"Haizaki-kun went off the other way. I think I can safely guarantee today."
"That's sweet of you Kuroko-san." said Sora.
"Yeah!" said Akira and the others agreed.
"But wait. Why only today....." said Yukiji.
"That's usually how it works with Haizaki...." said Akashi.
"So there's nothing to be done?"
"Not precisely...."
