We all turned around. And to our shock, Severus Snape was right behind Remus. Wand pointed towards Remus and was pulling off Harry's Invisibility Cloak.
I heard Hermione screaming. And Sirius leapt to his feet. I jumped as though I was someone's prey, ready to be attacked.
"Hermione. Harry. Behind me." I said quietly as Harry and Hermione stayed behind me. I stood in front of the three, protecting them.
"I found this at the base of the Whomping Willow. Very useful, Potter, I thank you ..." said Snape, throwing the Cloak aside and kept his wand pointed at Remus.
Snape was barely breathless, but his face was full of repressed triumph.
"You're wondering, perhaps, how I knew you were here?" he asked.
"I've just been to your office, Lupin. You forgot to take your Potion tonight, so I took a gobletful along. And very lucky I did ... lucky for me, I mean. Lying on your desk was a certain map. One glance at it told me all I needed to know. I saw you running along this passageway and out of sight."
I looked instantly at Remus, who still remained calm and kept his poise.
"Severus –" he muttered but before he could even continue, Snape overrode him.
"I've told the Headmaster again and again that you've been helping your old friend Black into the castle, Lupin, and here's the proof. Not even I dreamed you would have the nerve to use this old place as your hideout –"
Snape suddenly paused and the next thing I knew, he pressed his dark cold eyes on mine.
"You're here as well, Ms. Black," he said coldly. "I'm not surprised at all. After all, you are his sister ..." he pointed at Sirius and then turned to me again. "And his accomplice. You're a traitor to your friends. Soon, you'll be joining your brother in Azkaban."
I shot a deadly glare at Snape. A rush of anger burning through my skin and I immediately pulled my wand out of my pocket and pointed it at Snape.
"Selene, put your wand back." Remus said bluntly.
"But I –"
"Put your wand back."
I reluctantly followedz
"Severus, you're making a mistake. You haven't heard everything – I can explain – Selene is not helping Sirius and Sirius is not here to kill Harry –" Remus said instantly.
Snape's eyes were now gleaming fanatically. "I shall be interested to see how Dumbledore takes this ... he was quite convinced you were harmless, you know, Lupin ... a tame werewolf ..."
"Take that back you git!" I spat, finally having enough and pointing my wand at Snape's throat angrily but felt Remus's hand grabbing my left arm.
