Third Person POV

Race slouched in his chair, feeling like death.

He had bandages tied around his whole chest/rib/stomach area (and other places) and would no doubly get scolded by Specs for sitting that way whenever Specs noticed.

Race had actually been pretty surprised when he limped out of Brooklyn, half conscious, with Romeo and JoJo helping him walk and his arms sling over their shoulders, and no Brooklyn Newsie stopped them.

Across the room, Mush sat in Blink's lap.

Race secretly wished he could be held by Spot.

Buttons was also holding Elmer and JoJo was sat on Mike's lap.

Mr. Jacobi walks into the room. "Aye, drink up, boys." He tells them.

He was unfazed by the couples in there.

Sniper was too done with life to remind him of the girls there and Smalls didn't care at the moment.

The only thing Smalls cared about at the moment was Sniper. Said girl sat on Smalls' lap, Smalls' arms wrapped around her and her head nuzzled into the crook of her neck.

"And don't ever say I don't give ya nothing." Mr. Jacobi tells them, looking around at them. "And before you say water is nothing," he starts. "Just ask a fish... in the desert." He finishes, smiling contently with his joke.

Multiple boys groan in annoyance.

Race rolls his eyes.

He knew Crutchie would've at least giggled at that.

He missed him.

Finch sits up on the table he had been laying on. "Why do old people talk?" He questions as he looks down at the water in his cup, his Manhattan accent slightly more obvious than it was usually.

Not that their accents were ever unnoticeable.

Race turns his head to face him, pulling his cigar out of his mouth. "To prove they'se still alive." He responds, slightly annoyed.

Finch points to him, nodding.

Grinning, Katherine walks into the deli. "Good morning, ladies and gentlemen!"

Sniper smiles at Katherine remembering that there were girls there.

Katherine's happiness was soon deflated when she saw them. "Would you get a load of these glum mugs?" She looks around at them. "Can these really be the same Newsies who made front page of the New York Sun?" She asks, holding up the newspaper.

The Newsies jump up.

Race grabs the paper from her, grinning. "Would you lookit?! That's me!!" He exclaims, tapping himself with his cigar.

JoJo smirks, crossing his arms. "Front page and you ain't even dead." He comments.

Race rolls his eyes at him.

Romeo snatches the paper out of his hands. "Where's me?! Where's me?!" He asks excitedly.

Tommy boy points to the paper, before turning to face Henry, beaming. "That's me!" He exclaims.

Buttons steals the paper, gasping. "I won't be last in line for the tub tonight!" He exclaims triumphantly.

Romeo sniffs him, his face contorting in disgust and him waving his hands in front of his nose to get the smell away. "You'll still smell." He mutters.
