- Chapter 106 - Kenny's Bonus Chapter!! -
Warnings: mentions of almost dying and almost getting hurt, and the borough war being rough, but outside of that and talks of sickness, it's pretty fluffyy
Third Person POV

The borough war was rough.

It was rough for everyone, but Kenny was one of the Newsies who it felt extremely rough for.

Selling with four other people did not help you make more money.

Never mind that their mother kept fussing over if they were safe or not.

Kenny figured he was fine. He knew Jack or someone would make sure he was fine.

Kenny didn't sell for almost half of the borough war days anyway.

November was the month of the year Kenny was most likely to get sick during, and as per usual, November proved to be rough. They had always been a sickly child, but it felt like they were really sick during November.

But that didn't matter now.

The borough war was over.

November was over.

Everything was normal.

Kenny knocked on the door of the lodge.

The door opened, revealing Racetrack Higgins.

Kenny gasped. "Race!" He threw his arms around him. "Oh my god! It's been forever!"

Race laughed. "Hey, Kenny! I missed you!"

Kenny grinned, letting go of him. "How are you? How was Brooklyn?" they asked. "I heard you got a boyfriend." They wiggled their eyebrows.

Race laughed, letting Kenny in and shutting the door behind him. "I may or may not have gotten a boyfriend, yes." He turned around. "Maybe, he's here today. Maybe, he's not."

Kenny looked around the room. "Oh wow, there are a lot of Brookies here."

Ace rolled his eyes. "Not Brookies."

"Brooklynites," Dice corrected them.

Kenny looked at Race.

Race shook his head. "Don't listen to them. They're all annoying."

"Racetrack, I'm pretty sure I'm the sole reason you're alive right now, so I would be quiet if I were you," Rags commented, plopping himself down in Cloth's lap.

Race shrugged. "Fair enough."

Kenny's eyebrows furrowed as he looked at Race. "What?"

Race looked at Boots.

"I didn't feel like reliving it, and Ike was with Hotshot in Brooklyn for two weeks." Boots shrugged.

Race rolled his eyes fondly. He looked at Kenny. "We'll explain in a few, come sit." He gestures to the table.

Kenny nodded. He walked over to the table and sat down next to JoJo.
