Third Person POV

Ike...

"Ike!" Mike's eyes widened as he watched his brother crumble. "Isaac! Get away from him!" He rushed over and shoved the East Side Newsie away from Ike, dropping to his knees next to him.

Ike.. Hotshot groaned softly. Where's Ike?

"Ike?" Hotshot looked up, making the mistake to take his eyes off of Impulse for a split second.

Ike... Hotshot tried to turn over, cringing in pain.

Impulse took the chance to grab Hotshot's head and slam him into the wall next to him.

Ike... what? Hotshot gritted his teeth in pain.

Hotshot fell to the ground, feeling heat rush to his head. The last thing he saw was Mike holding his twin in his arms, his hand covered in blood as he tried to slow the blood coming from Ike's shoulder.

Hotshot shot up in the bed. "IKE!"

"Woah, Shot!" Red quickly grabbed him by his shoulders.

Hotshot was panting hard and his eyes were wide as he looked over at Red. "Red- Red- where-" he tried to calm himself down enough to get words out, but it wasn't working.

Red carefully laid Hotshot back down. "Ike is in the other room. He's going to be okay," he assured him, his voice calm.

Hotshot stared at him. "He- I- Mike- he-" he stammered, trying to make sense of what happened.

Red opened his mouth to speak, but the door opened before he could get any words out.

"Hey, Red. When Hotshot wakes u-" Knobs stopped in the doorway, noticing Hotshot. "Oh. He's awake," he informed someone outside of the room.

The door opened more, revealing Dice and Patch, the Midtown third-in-command.

Patch walked into the room, sitting down next to Hotshot. "Did he just wake up?" he asked Red. "He looks like he's seen a ghost."

Red sighed. "Well, the door opened before I could explain that his boyfriend is okay and what happened, so he probably feels like he's seen a ghost too," he responded.

Patch nodded. He grabbed gloves out of his bag and turned to Hotshot. "Hey, Hotshot. Glad you're awake. As Red was going to say..." he trailed off for a split second as he lifted up the bandage on Hotshot's head to see how his injury looked, "...Ike is going to be fine. He needed a few stitches in his shoulder, but the blade didn't hit anything too important and his arm won't need to be amputated."

Hotshot blinked.

Patch took a look at his face. He sighed. "Removed."

Hotshot nodded. Then, he winced in pain.

"The blade just barely scathed the top of his shoulder," Patch informed him. "He'll just have to wear a sling for a bit, so be careful when you two cuddle cause, you know, I'm sure that's inevitable." He grabbed a clean bandage to put on the wound on Hotshot's head.
