- Chapter 107 - The Bear -
Warnings: mentions of death and hard times and God, in ways. It's not really religious, but it has one mention of God. It's almost a little sad, like bittersweet fluff
Third Person POV

December 24th, 11:06 p.m.

Spot Conlon sat at a table in the middle of the living room of the Brooklyn lodge, a cup of water in front of him.

Thoughts and memories consumed his mind.

It was the first Christmas he was spending with his sister in eight years.

Spot had fond memories of Christmases he spent with his mother and sister.

December 23rd, 1890.

"Mamma, please!" Sean (8) folded his hands together and put them up, pleasing. "We gotta run an errand!"

His mother chuckled. "What errand do you have to run? You're eight."

Sean's eyebrows furrowed. "Hey! Eight-year-olds run errands!" He puffed out his chest.

His mother looked at him, before shaking her head. She was clearly amused by his attempts at looking tough. "What errand, Sean?"

"Just an errand, Mamma," Sean whined, holding the counter and bouncing up and down. "You just have to trust me! I have the money for the errand already."

His mother sighed. "Fine. You can run your errand, but take your sister," she told him. "Remember what I taught you to stay safe, Sean."

Sean beamed. "Thank you, Ma!" He bounced over to his sister, who was sat on the ground in the corner of the living room-kitchen space in their apartment. "Come on, Sienna!"

"Sean!" Sienna (8) complained. "I don't want to leave! It's cold outside!"

"Too bad!" Sean dragged her up. "We must run this errand!"

Sienna grumbled as she got up.

Their mother chuckled. "Be safe, you two!"

Sienna rolled her eyes and grabbed her coat.

Sean did the same. He raced to put his coat on and zip it up, bouncing impatiently on the balls of his feet when he finished as he waited for his sister to finish. "Slow poke." He coughed.

Sienna rolled her eyes at him. "Nutcase." She coughed, copying his actions.

Sean gasped, putting a hand on his heart.

"No name-calling!" their mother scolded them from the kitchen.

"Sorry, Ma!" the twins shouted in unison, still glaring at each other.

"Come on!" Sean lurched forward abruptly and grabbed Sienna's wrist.

Sienna yelped.

"Let's go!" Sean opened the door and pulled Sienna out. "Ti amo, Madre!"

They heard their mother's chuckles as they left. "Vi amo tutti, bambini!"
