Chapter 36|Rough

Yena's pov

Honestly everything is a mess including our solo schedules, we finalized the album by the end of May and guess what? We have to finish recording the music video this week too because it should be out next of next week on the 15th of June. Due to many things happening at the same time the choreographies were kind of confusing since we had to memorize too many of them at the same time.

Due our scandal last time we hardly get invited in many TV shows so Mnet make schedules for us to interact with fans. Three days before our comeback we were told that there was problem with the music video so it won't be released, so rather than postponing the comeback we have to record a performance video that will cover for the music video. It took us 2 days to finished it and they edited it.

The company did release a statement about it, on the 15th the song was released with the performance video. It chatted music charts the moment it was released, I am proud of my girls. We worked so hard for this, but we were still tired. We promoted for three weeks along with twice sunbaenim since we had comeback at the same month but we never shared stage surprisingly.

Soon after the album was released we started to prepare for our online concert, Oneric Theatre. The preparations were fun especially for subunits, I was grouped with Chaeyeon and Yujin. We started by preparing group performances, for units performance Chaeyeon took us to her dance teacher.

It's my first time at YG and the environment seems friendly, we were lucky enough to see Blackpink sunmbaenim. I couldn't help but gawk when they were talking to Chaeyeon, they are all pretty and they seem to be close with Chaeyeon especially Lisa sunbaenim.

We were impressed by how Chaeyeon and the dance instructor understood each other without even saying words, for Chaeyeon's solo parts her moves were crazy that they had to change the choreography since it will overwhelm us.

After practice we went back to our dorms, we spent the whole week at YG rehearsing. We started recording and for our unit I was having problem with some moves not executing them correctly.

"It's ok, we can shoot again", the director explained trying to cheer me up so I tried again

"Ah!!", I messed up again and I felt like crying

"It's ok, do it again", he coaxed

"Start!", the second direction motioned

"Fu**!......", my eyes were wet this time

"Why can't I get it right? I was fine before recording", I couldn't help but blame myself since eveyone is tired

"Yena it's ok", the poor director tried to coax me but it didn't work

"It's just that I'm delaying everyone", I said apologising to everyone and tears rolled down, I am exhausted since we haven't rested since bloom*iz era which was in February and now it's July without any break

"Yena, it's ok you just need to relax. You are just stressing yourself too much, drink water and calm down. Just focus on the performance and leave everything else to the crew, ok?", Chaeyeon said hugging me and gave me water while my make up is being retouched

"Ok, everyone let's roll again", the director said and the mood lightened up and surprisingly I did it I first try and we finished our unit performance

"Ok, everyone well done!", the director said and we all clapped our hands

The concert went well and we were finally able to rest, the time we have with each other is limited and these days we try to create as many memories as we can. This week I'm going home, I just feel sad for the other four since they can't go home due to pandemic so we all try our best not to leave at the same time. So when others go home the other group stay behind with the girls, we tried our best to avoid going home too often.

My parents have been trying to get in contact with Chaeyeon but she keep refusing, I have been trying to not get involved or take sides since it's non of my business but lately it have been affecting her mood a lot so I urged her to meet them. Since she didn't want to go alone I promised to go with her, it's not about forgiveness it's about addressing the root of the problem so that they can all be able to move on with their lives without any regrets.

On Saturday I took her to my house and most of our family members were there including my grandparents, I introduced Chaeyeon to them. I gave them space to talk it out and went to my room, when my brother came to call me down for lunch they were already done talking. Somehow my younger uncle seems interested in Chaeyeon's life and he kept on prying, I smell trouble coming.

"So Chaeyeon-nah how many are you in your family back in China?", my uncle asked again

"Four", I answered for her

"Any brothers?"

"It's only me and my sister", she answered calmly eating

"What does your parents do?", he asked again

"Just here and there", she didn't even spare him a glance and he was not liking it

"Is that so, I guess they spoil you also since you are the last born", he commented but Chaeyeon just shrugged her shoulders

After eating we sat for a while and I could see my uncle's glances at her while he was busy with his phone and my intuition tells me something is off about him, our manager came and pick us in the evening.

"What's with your uncle?", she asked playing game on her phone

"Family feuds", I kept it short

"Ah, he will cause problem soon", she said texting someone on her phone

"I know"

"How are you planing to deal with it?"

"We will see when time come, I know it won't be now since everyone will blame him"

"Oh"

We arrived at our dorm and found the girls playing game and we joined them, I have been invited to record a reality show and I couldn't be happier to have schedule again. Minju have been MC at Music Core and Yujin at Inkigayo, we have also been invited to Melon Music Awards and we were shocked since are cancelled in many awards. I can't wait for MMAs and see Wiz*ones again.

The months went on fast and we have been preparing for our last album, since we hardly have any schedules except for me, Minju and Yujin we weren't too tired. We only have Eating trip and Fantastic Iz: Hidden School on our group schedule, we finished recording the album early. After MMAs our comeback was announced and the song will be revealed at MAMA.
