Im gonna be straight up, I genuinely hated working. I mean, obviously I liked photography, that was my passion, but the regular nine to five shit was purely a necessity and now that I was back I hated it all over again.
This corner store job was testing my maturity and patience at the same time. It was my first job since getting fired from the grocery store and I'd already had to deal with 2 crack heads, 3 angry Latinas, and 1 white man. I was too close to snapping out and I needed this job.
It already took about 2 hours of sweet talking Jayceon and a promise of giving him top to even convince him that I could handle this shit.
Thankfully, my lunch break finally came and I actually got a break from the chaos. of course, I called my best friend to vent about everything that happened today.
"did you slap her?" she asked, after I explained my encounter with one of the unnecessarily rude Latina women.
"you know I am not hitting no girl." I laughed.
"shiii, I would've, that bitch had no reason to even do 'allat."
"mind you, I think my manager got a crush on me." I told her, whispering to keep my voice low.
"you lying!" she exclaimed
"on my momma, he keep giving me hints he gay, and he slick tryna give compliments too." I explained.
"bye, he know yo boyfriend fight?"she joked.
"man speaking of him!" I said dramatically, remembering this morning.
"this nigga walked me in like he was dropping me off for school or some shit. Introduced himself to my fucking boss, AND THEN threatened the nigga if something was to happen to me." I explained.
Immediately Kierra busted out into laughter, which caused me to roll my eyes at the situation all over again
"bestie that's cute Im not gonna lie, his light bright ass just over protective." she explained.
"he's crazy, that's what his ass is." I chuckled.
"and you like it boy cause you're still with him after all those years."
"Aight you making too much sense I'll call you later my break finna end."
Again she laughed, " aight bye bitch."
Once I hang up with her I actually still had a couple of minutes left on break so I called that over protective boyfriend I was just talking about.
The conversation went as I expected it, him checking on me, checking on me some more, and saying he loved me until I had to go.
Now I back at the register bored but trying not to show it.
I didn't even realize I had been day dreaming until the customer In front of me spoke.
