"August thank you again for joining us! We're so excited to have you here with us here today at FiendsForFashion." The host spoke.
"Pleasure is all mine, thank you!" I smiled, nodding.
Ms.Mikaelson, who I guess was technically my boss now since I was under her modeling agency had suggested I accept some interviews when my magazine cover had dropped two days ago. I mean media wasn't exactly my favorite thing to do—but I didn't hate it.
I've honestly just been enjoying life lately. After Jayce had came over and we talked a bit—I really did begin to grieve healthily. I'd hung up Oryons portrait in my living room, I didn't cry as much thinking about him and Denise—finally it just felt like things were getting a little better.
I can definitely say therapy has helped with that as well, I was really looking forward to meeting again this weekend.
Honestly though, I think I underestimated how much my popularity would spike after this magazine cover. Ms.Mikaelson had already told me that she was able to pull some strings along with Jayceons label to get it for me—and it was rather unheard of for someone as new as me to cover such a prestigious magazine but hey, I did it.
I loved it—modeling was genuinely a passion I didn't even know I had until I started it, I can say wholeheartedly I love it more than photography.
"What a week it has been for you!" The host smiled.
"Let me just list some of these stats, your cover dropped on Tuesday at 10 am, within five minutes you had already accumulated 80k likes on Instagram, and 50k on Twitter.." she continued.
I smiled politely and nodded, "Yeah I'm thankful, I'm blessed, all of this still feels surreal to be honest."
"—so much success and that was just the first day, as of now your post has a little over 500k likes on Instagram, and you've become a brand ambassador for Calvin Klein." She smiled, pointing to the screen which pulled up the post.
"Tell me, what has that been like? This has to be a lot for a freshly turned 21 year old?"
"Of course, not gonna lie I wasn't prepared—I mean I was already still getting used to the fame before this, but after I had the honor of covering this, it's been on another level." I explained.
"I can't even imagine, you're breaking down barriers not only being a black man, but being a dark-skin black man, and to add onto that, being a queer dark-skin black man!" She said proudly.
"yeah it's an honor, I don't wanna think about it too much or else I psyche myself out—but yeah I'm just proud that it means so much to everyone." I nodded.
"Speaking of breaking barriers, your boyfriend HF.Jayce," she started, "the two of you have really become an obsession for people, and he too enjoyed success this week with his song alongside artist Nyjel Laurant debuting at #5 on the billboard top 100!" She smiled.
