I sat and palmed my own fist as I waited in the back area of the hospital. They had me in a completely different area than the general public so I wouldn't be seen and of course swarmed.

Honestly though none of that even mattered—none of it. I just needed to know if Quan was okay, that's it. He had to be alive I don't care about anything fucking else.

"boss I'm so sorry, I don't know how—"

"shut the fuck up." I said simply, cutting my eyes at the man across from me

I gave him clear instructions, he was to be Quans driver, he was to be Quans security, and he was to be his fucking shadow. He knew how serious I was about this, I made myself as clear as humanly possible.

"I hand picked you for this shit because I trusted you."

"I know, and boss I—"

"what did I just say to you?" I questioned him simply, raising my eyebrows.

"I could've sworn I told you to shut the fuck up so until I let you know when you can speak—you gon' sit there, and do exactly that." I repeated.

"Am I understood?" I questioned.

He looked at me with a sad look, but ultimately nodded.

"words." I demanded simply, to which he immediately spoke up.

"ye-yes sir!"

I never talked to my staff with anything other than respect, at the end of the day they were people too and they took care of me. But today, nah—today he fucked up, and he knew it.

"I told you what locations you could drive him to, I gave you clear instructions to not let him out of your sight, I gave you my fucking number so the moment you realized something was off you should've called me." I ranted lowly in a calm tone.

Again he stayed silent, looking on at me sadly.

"Oliver," I started, using his name this time, "tell when's the last time you've seen me even attempt to date someone."
