Hyunjin startled awake, a nightmare-induced panic only growing when he noticed the emptiness beside him. He frantically threw the covers off, but quickly came to the conclusion that Felix was no longer in bed. Scrambling to his feet, Hyunjin's feet got tangled in the sheets and he fell on the carpet with a 'THUD'. 

Cursing under his breath, the pain in his knees managed to snap him out of his daze, and he only then noticed the faint light coming from under the closed door of the bathroom attached to their room. A second later, he heard the toilet flush and, soon enough, the light was turned off and the door opened.

"Hyunjin...?" He relaxed upon hearing Felix's deep voice. "What're you doing up...?"

Pushing himself back to his feet, the alpha walked up to Felix and wrapped his arms around him, letting out a shuddering sigh as the last of his panic ebbed away now that he was holding his precious mate again. Felix instantly leaned into his chest, humming contently, and obviously exhausted. 

Hyunjin easily carried him back to bed and carefully tucked him in before lying down beside him and spooning him from behind, burrowing his nose into the omega's scent gland. He was mindful not to press on his mate's stomach, though and, soon enough, Felix was drifting off to sleep again.

Forcing himself to relax, Hyunjin inhaled the omega's scent a few times before letting himself fall back into Morpheus's arms.

Hyunjin woke up to a gentle hand carding through his hair. He hummed under his breath, curling up some more around the little ball of warmth and sugar that was his mate as he leaned into his touch, and Felix let out a soft sigh.

"You should sleep under the covers, love," he murmured, his deep voice making Hyunjin's heart melt. "You're going to catch a cold like that."

"Can't," mumbled the alpha, too stubborn to open his eyes just yet – the moment he did, he'd have to be productive, and he didn't want to leave his lover's arms just yet. "Too dangerous."

What if Felix was taken while they were in bed? What if he got tangled in the sheets like he did earlier and couldn't save him in time? Or what if someone used the sheets to immobilize him while hurting his mate? Of if—

"You're becoming paranoid, hyung," sighed Felix, kissing the tip of his nose. "This is the most protected room in the most protected mansion in the most protected piece of land in the country – absolute no one will be able to get to me here."

"We don't know that," huffed Hyunjin.

"Did you have another nightmare?"

With a sigh, Hyunjin nodded. Cooing a bit, Felix started peppering his face with sweet kisses and, soon enough, the frown lines marring his alpha's face started fading away.

Hyunjin's line of work wasn't an easy one. Ever since he'd inherited the title of Boss from his mother, he'd had to make tough calls and even tougher actions – his hands were tainted with blood, and he had fingers in every single money pot the underbelly of the country could offer.
