I slump down against Axl's chest. I grin.

"That... was something else." Axl says breathlessly. He kisses me.

"I'm gonna get cleaned. Join me?"

He nods and we head to my bathroom. And when I say clean up, I actually mean have another round.

After the water heats up, we both step into the shower. The warm water feels so good on my skin.

"Can we talk?" He asks.

My heart sinks. "Is something wrong?"

"You know that one rule we aren't supposed to break?"

He caught feelings.

"You broke it?" I ask, quickly rinsing my hair so I avoided getting shampoo in my eyes.

He nods. "I can't do this 'friends with benefits' thing anymore."

I shake my head. "But you were the one who came up with that rule."

"I know." He says. "Believe me, I know."

"I wanna be more, too, Axl." I say. "It kinda broke me when you made that rule. I already liked you beforehand, but..." I trail off.

He rinses off and shuts the water off.

"Here." He hands me a towel.

Did I do something? Is he mad?

We dry off and get dressed in silence. He wouldn't even make eye contact with me.

"Are you mad at me, Axl?" I ask him.

He furrows his eyebrows. "Why would I be mad at you?" He asks.

I shake my head. "Just quiet is all."

"Because I'm guilty. I'm guilty of making that stupid rule." He explains.

"You didn't know you would catch feelings. Or-"

He cuts me off. "I couldn't care less about my feelings. I care about you and I'm an idiot for doing that to you. I was selfish."

Wow, that did not sound like Axl Heck.

"So, what does this mean for us?"

"I don't know about you." He pauses as if he's trying to find the right words. "But for me, it means I love you."
