It took him a second, when he woke up from deep, deep sleep. But then it all came flooding back in and he thought the corners of his mouth would touch his ears.
Oh man. That had, without a doubt, been the most satisfying experience in the history of the world. He turned slightly and found his own stupid grin reflected on Brett's face.
"Hi." Brett said, almost shyly.
"Hi. How... how are you?"
Brett leaned forward and kissed him gently on the nose.
"Super happy."
Well. That wasn't really what Eddy meant. But he knew that it was the only answer he was going to get from him right then. He gave Brett a quick kiss and got up.

"Why do I feel like we're about to face the firing squad?" he said as he pulled on the jeans he had dropped the night befrore and reached for a clean shirt. Brett grinned behind him.
"Yeah. It'll be okay though."
"God. I'm nervous to go to the living room. Todd is definitely going to make jokes."

A minute later he followed his love through the hall as if he could hide behind him, but Todd caught his eye straight away, and he grinned one of his wicked grins.
"So, good morning, lovebirds. Did you enjoy your long night's sleep?"
Look. He could say yes, thank you. He could say something ironic, or something to try and hide. But what was the point? Todd's twinkling eyes clearly said he knew very well what they had been doing. Well. Approximately, anyway. So he just shook his head.
"Fuck you, Todd."
"Yeah, no, I think you've got me confused with someone else, there."
Eddy looked down at the ground, searching for a hatch that he could disappear down. He could feel his cheeks colouring bright red. God, he really had to learn to be quieter. His eyes shot up again when Todd slapped him on the shoulder.
"Just kidding, Eddy. No worries, 'kay?"
Todd's eyes were soft, now, searching, the bravado gone, and Eddy was suddenly reminded of how vulnerable he had looked, a little while ago when he told him how he felt about Ian. He really should ask him about that, soon. If he could get him alone at any point.
"Sorry." Todd said then, so quietly the others wouldn't be able hear. "I shouldn't have joked around."
"It's fine, bro." Eddy responded with a shrug, and as soon the words left his mouth he knew them to be true. Who cared anyway, if they had heard them? It's not like they didn't know they had a sex life, right?
"I'll try and keep it down." he added, and straight away Todd waggled his eyebrows.
"What, your voice? Or..."
They both burst out laughing, and now it was Eddy's turn to punch Todd in the shoulder.
"My voice, yes. Thank you."
"You know I really don't care though, right? I'm sure Ian doesn't either."
"Still."

They walked to the con as a group, like they did most days, now. Wow, this had become so very normal so very quickly. They had been a group of four all year, and Eddy knew the whole con saw them as that, too. Friends came and went, tagged along, but they were the core of it all.
Life was pretty awesome, right now.
He quickly texted Lily and wished her a good day, and then he allowed himself to get swept up into the conversation. Brett fell into step next to him, his hand grazing the back of his for just a second. He eyed him from the side.
Oh, but Brett was looking good, this morning. So good. His cheeks had that healthy glow, and his eyes were calm, and happy. He ran his hands through his hair and licked his lips, and Eddy smiled, all the way from somewhere deep inside.

Yeah. It did seem like he had done alright.
