After arriving home, Adria refreshed herself and lay down on her bed. A soft smile graced her lips as she recalled her recent stroll with Damien. She couldn't help but giggle softly as she thought about her soulmate, but her expression turned solemn as her mind shifted toward Edgard.
**Host?** LIL called out to Adria seeing her smile drop so suddenly.
*LIL, can you not do anything to find Edgard's connection with me? He is driving me insane!*
**I really can't interfere with your memories host. It's against our laws. Unless you remember it on your own, we can't do anything about it. From what I know it doesn't seem like he was from the same time as you when you died host, maybe he was someone from your past life?**
*How am I supposed to remember my past lives?* Adria asked with an annoyed pout on her face.
**You can remember your past lives as long as your soul gets stronger host! **
*And how does that happen? Should I meditate or something?*
** No, Host. You have to complete your missions in every world. As you travel more and more world your soul will absorb the energy of that world and it will get stronger.**
*--------* Adria looked deadpan at LIL's happy explanation.
*What do you mean to say is that I can't remember about him no matter what I do in this world?*
**Y-Yes host.** LIL's responded gloomily as it met Adria's stern gaze.
Adria could feel the drop in LIL's energy as she gazed at it, imagining its ears and tail drooping in disappointment. She couldn't help but pull LIL for a hug who immediately began to snuggle deeply in her arms.
**Sorry host.**
*Hey, why are you apologizing? If there's a problem we can fix, let's work on it, but if it's out of our control, we will just let it go. So from now on, let's focus on ignoring Edgard* Adria said reassuringly to LIL.
**Yes Host!!!** LIL replied cheerfully reverting to its usual self.
They fell asleep after doing a little small talk.
The next day when Adria woke up and went through her mobile she found a newly added chat in her social media.
'Good morning, Clara. Hope your day is as bright as your smile.' Damien has texted her, keeping his text short and crisp but sweet at the same time.
Adria smiled at his text and quickly sent a reply. She then got ready to go to school.
As soon as she went inside her class, she saw two faces, one looking at her annoyed, and the other made her feel annoyed.
Roselyn who was looking at her with an annoyed look turned her head with a 'hmph' which made Adria almost roll her eyes.
Edgard who was responsible for making her annoyed first thing in the morning had the same gentle smile he had since she came to this world and walked towards her.
But Adria, not wanting to ruin her blessed morning, went ahead and sat on her seat as if not seeing him make his way to her.
She took her books out and pretended to be immersed in reading. Edgard knowing very well that she intends to not have any interactions with him anymore, heaved a sigh and took a step back to not make his annoying approach way too overboard.
Julia who was looking at everything gawked at their interaction making her wonder "What the hell even happened between them and why was she left out in the dark". The school started and everything went as per usual, except for some abnormalities.
As the school came to an end everyone had realised two things.
1. Clara and Edgard are having a conflict, though the conflict seems unilateral on Clara's side since Edgard is still like an abandoned puppy looking eagerly at its owner.
2. Roselyn seems to have a bad bone for Clara, since anyone with good eyes can see how she kept sending draggers through her eyes though Clara didn't even seem to notice her (**Ignored her**).
Everyone was in the gossip mode and began to speculate "Love triangle" theories with Clara as the main character who got her secret boyfriend Edgard robbed by the newly transferred student Roselyn. This theory though felt ridiculous, it was the most apt to explain this situation so everyone subconsciously believed in it and looked at Adria with pitiful and sympathetic gazes whereas Edgard received some curious gazes while Roselyn received some disgusted and inappropriate gazes.
Roselyn couldn't stand those gazes around her, she couldn't even understand why everyone was looking at her with the same look Clara received in her past. She was very angry, she couldn't understand how she had become an object of these scornful gazes, this wasn't how her second life was supposed to be!!!
She glared at Clara even more angrily twisting her face into an ugly frown. She thought it was Clara who did something behind her back to make everyone like this. She didn't realize it was her own reaction against Clara that made people think that way.
Though it was an accident that she and Edgard took a leave at the same day, and when they came they had trouble with Clara, the coincidences were a bit too perfect and the rising rumor felt more and more true when people connected these dots.
As the other two people involved in the rumor, Adria and Edgard were rather calm.
Adria just ignored the people around not bothering to explain the situation, as she was busy thinking about how to take her hubby on a date without breaking out of her character much.
Edgard too didn't want to bother them, he kept focusing on Adria and her movements, to find a perfect time to comfort her anger.
Adria walked towards the school ignoring the golden retriever following behind her but came to a sudden stop when she saw a familiar handsome man standing in front of a familiar car.
A.N - Hey all! My lovely readers this author has been charged guilty for all the time I ignored my story. I got so busy with my studies and career but now I have reached a stable point IG so unless and until I decide to do my Ph.d or any other graduation I should be updating weekly from now on.
