Julie's P.O.V

"She did what?" I nearly yelled, looking at the red haired girl I called my friend. My milkshake was long forgotten over the news of one of my so called best friends hooking up with the guy I liked. Rosie, the redhead, nodded in a way that showed me how angry she was and I leaned against the back of my chair, shaking my head.

The small diner wasn't full to the slightest on this hot Colorado weekend. Most likely the entire town was at the pool that was just down the road. But me and Rosie decided to hit up the diner for a milkshake. Unfortunately this was when she decided to tell me that one of my friends, one that I considered to be my best friend, was hooking up with the guy that I liked. Michelle was a bitch, she was the world's biggest bitch, though I would never have expected this from her. Especially since tomorrow is my eighteenth birthday. I know it's nothing that important but Goddammit, she should have some morals.

"I'm sorry Jules, I just got a text from Samantha and apparently Michelle and Sean are at the pool right now and they are getting all cuddly. What do you wanna do about it?" Rosie asked me.

I cocked an eyebrow, titling my head as I looked at her. "Let's head down to the pool." I said. Rosie smirked and nodded her head, telling me that that was what she was thinking. I put down a twenty for the two milkshakes and a tip before we started to head out of the diner. I was glad that I didn't bring my purse, the hot June air would only make it worse for me.

We started making our way to Rosie's used pickup truck and I was beginning to think of something that I would say to the brunette that I called my best friend. Michelle has been my best friend since we were in our freshman year. I never expected her to be whoring around my back. I knew that what I was going to say to her wasn't going to be easy, but I can't let her know that I'm hurt by what she's done to me. I've got my reputation as the school's 'bad girl' to uphold and I wasn't about to let this little bitch get in the way of that.

So Rosie and I made our way downtown, towards the towns pool that was open to the public. Luckily for us, Rosie's older sister gets a family discount and well, a lie or two later and I was able to get in on her family discount. Making it through the gate was easy and soon enough, we were looking for the brunette that stabbed me in the back. I wanted to rip out the hair that grew from her head and I wanted to slap those chubby cheeks that guys found adorable. I turned to look at Rosie, who was holding her hand above her eyes to block the sun. "Do you see her?" I asked.

"Uh... there. She's by the diving board." Rosie said.

I looked over to where she had said and sure enough, there Michelle was. She was sitting on Sean's lap, her arms wrapped around his bare neck and their lips were locked. Disgusting. I started making my way over to them. The flip flops I wore protected my feet from getting wet, though they made a flopping noise as I walked. I brushed my dark hair backwards, behind my ear, as I approached the couple sitting on the chair. Rosie was next to me in an instant and I cleared my throat, gaining the attention of the two.

Michelle squinted in the sun's light but as soon as she saw me her eyes widened. She immediately climbed off of Sean's lap and opened her mouth to feed me bullshit, but closed it. I crossed my arms and narrowed my eyes at my so-called best friend. "So..." I clicked my tongue. "This is the cousin that you needed to show around town today?" I asked. Earlier this morning when I had asked if she wanted to come to the diner with us, she rejected the idea because of a cousin that needed to be shown around town. Now I know that that was an obvious lie.
