Caitlin's P.O.V

I laughed loudly at the joke that Teresa said, she was actually making the entire group of people laugh. I've been hanging out with these people all day by the big window that opened up the room. I guess you could say that this was the 'popular' people of the competition, though I don't see it that way. But by some of the looks that we were getting from a few other contestants, it seemed that they thought of it that way.

It's not like we planned it this way. I was just hanging out with my roommate when we sat by the big window. Eventually people just started to come over and sit with us, until there was a group of about twenty people here. It was nice though, it was nice getting to know people that you normally wouldn't talk to outside of this competition.

No one had approached us or joined us in the past hour, aside from one blonde girl who was passing out water bottles. I don't know her name due to the fact that she didn't stay long enough to tell me, though she seemed nice enough. I thought I heard the guy she was with call her Lizzie or something but I couldn't hear that well.

Anyway, I've been sitting here for quite a while. Since my last name is W and that's pretty much at the end of the alphabet I have to wait a while. It's already past lunch and the sun was slowly beginning to set. A few people had began to leave, ones that had already preformed in front of the judges, though most of them stayed until everyone was finished. We were getting down to the very last few people, me included. We were at the one hundred and ten mark, which meant that there were only ten people left. I couldn't wait to go out and perform.

I was singing Perfect by Simple Plan, which explains my relationship with my mom perfectly. I have such a strong connection with that song, I felt like it was a need to sing that song. I also know the song like I know the back of my hand, which makes everything so much more easier.

I was listening to Teresa tell another joke when I heard my name being called. I seemed to have the attention of nearly everyone in the group I was sitting in and they all started to cheer for me. I laughed and shook my head at them, smacking the back of Sam's head lightly. "Shut up guys, you're going to make me more nervous than I already am."

"Good luck Cait." My roommate, Jade said.

"Thanks J." I said, waving a goodbye to the group before heading over to Mark, who smiled when I got to him.

"Hi Caitlin, are you ready to do this?" He asked. When I nodded he continued, "Alright, so all you're going to do is go through the doors. Derek will give you a microphone and then you just go up to the stage to sing. Seems simple enough, yeah?" He asked.

"Yeah, thanks Mark." I said.

I followed his directions out the door and sure enough, there was a guy I assumed was Derek, and he handed me a microphone. I thanked him and was told to go out onto the stage, where the judges were waiting for me.

After taking a deep breath, I started to make my way out onto the stage. The only sound that could be heard was my sandals hitting the stage's floor. I looked up and saw that all the judges were looking at me, slightly intimidating. But I had to just roll with everything. I know that I could sing, though I was still nervous. This is a bit of a personal song for me and as excited as I was to be singing it, I was kind of nervous.

"Hello Caitlin love, how are you?" Simon asked.

"I'm going pretty good, you?" I asked.

"Can't complain. So what song are you going to be singing for us today?" He asked.

"I'll be singing Perfect by Simple Plan." I said.

The judges all nodded and I looked over at the sound manager guy thing and watched as he pressed a few buttons, allowing the music to flow through the speakers. I tapped my fingers along to the beat of the song as soon as the drums kicked in and the heavier punk sound started to play. I closed my eyes, already feeling how much the song moved me.

"Hey dad, look at me," I started to sing, "Think back and talk to me. Did I grow up according to plan? And do you think I'm wasting my time, doing things I wanna do? But it hurts when you disapprove all along. And now I try hard to make it, I just wanna make you proud. I'm never gonna be enough for you. Can't pretend that I'm alright, and you can't change me." I sang.

" 'Cause we lost it all, nothing lasts forever. I'm sorry, I can't be perfect. Now it's just too late, and we can't go back. I'm sorry, I can't be perfect."

"I try not to think about the pain I feel inside. Did you know you used to be my hero? All the days you spent with me, now seem so far away. And it feels like you don't care anymore. And now I try hard to make it, I just wanna make you proud. I'm never gonna be good enough for you. And I can't stand another fight, and nothing's alright." I sang, holding out the note just a tiny bit.

" 'Cause we lost it all, nothing lasts forever. I'm sorry, I can't be perfect. Now it's just too late, and we can't go back. I'm sorry, I can't be perfect. Nothing's gonna change the things that you said, nothing's gonna make this right again. Please don't turn your back, I can't believe it's hard just to talk to you. But you don't understand." I sang, holding out the note once more.

" 'Cause we lost it all, nothing lasts forever. I'm sorry, I can't be perfect. Now it's just too late, and we can't go back. I'm sorry, I can't be perfect.  'Cause we lost it all, nothing lasts forever. I'm sorry, I can't be perfect. Now it's just too late, and we can't go back. I'm sorry, I can't be perfect." I sang, finishing up the song.

As the final notes to the song played out, I dropped my hand and let out a breath of air. "Thank you." I said to the judges before making my way off the stage. I handed the microphone to Derek and pushed open the doors.

Mark was calling another person to go in as I walked back over to the group of people that I was sitting with before. I got asked a whole bunch of questions of how I did and if the judges seemed to like what I sang. I didn't know the answer to the ladder, so I was only able to answer the first part of the question. The judges had such a good poker face, it was hard to tell if they liked my voice or not. I know that they liked it when I had my audition, being that I got four yes'. But they could have not liked the song I picked. I don't know and I won't know until tomorrow morning when they told us if we made it to the second and final stage of boot camp.

I know short, but like I said in the last author's note, I have to get through each girl's solo song in their own P.O.Vs but I don't want them to be all in one chapter like before.
