Julie's P.O.V

My dinner was placed in front of me, the aroma chicken and tomato sauce in the air. The dining table was full of conversation and laughter was heard everywhere. I was sitting in between Caitlin and Liz. Caitlin was talking to me about how good the chicken smelt and Liz was talking to Beck about something that I couldn't hear.

I admire their friendship, I really do. They seem very close and I like that fact that she has someone like him to turn to. Although, I do feel a bit jealous that Beck had so easily gained her friendship when it took longer for me and her to become friends. But I guess, that's my fault.

Neither Simon nor Cher were with us right now, I think that they are having dinner separately to discuss whatever it is that they need to discuss. Inside, the groups were all together, eating away. Across from me was a good looking guy, Sam. He was in One Step, Beck's band. His brown hair fell over his eyes as he looked down at his plate. Next to him was Josh, his other friend.

I guess my staring caught their attention, because my eyes soon met with Sam's dark ones. He smiled, setting his fork down. "Julie, right?" He asked.

"Yeah, the name's Julie. So, you ready to take on this competition?" I asked, spearing pasta with my fork.

"Oh, we are ready." Josh chimed in, throwing his arm around Sam's shoulders. "My boy here had got the voice of no other and he's ready to take you silly girls down." He said with a cocky, yet playful smile.

I laughed, "We'll see about that."

"Okay, okay, quiet down." Mark said as he stood in front of the television. The packed living room quieted down as everyone took their seats. Everybody was sitting on the couches, squished together. I was pressed up in between the girls. Liz was talking with Beck, per usual. And Caitlin was being the social butterfly she usually is, talking amongst pretty much everyone.

"Now, the very first episode of the X Factor is starting in just one minute, so let's begin." Mark said.

The TV lit up and Mark worked the remote until he got to the Fox channel. He had perfect timing, as the X Factor was just beginning. The usual tune that played with the show started and I could see a few people doing small dance movements to it. The energy in the room was so great, everyone was so happy. It was so different than the auditions. It was so tense and so nerve wrecking there. Here it's calm, and it's fun. I actually wanted to make friends with these people. I was concerned because I didn't want to end up hurt, but it seemed okay for now.

As the show began to progress, no one in the room was on TV. I did however, see my old roommate. Her audition was pretty good, it was nothing that special. It wasn't until after the second commercial that someone that was in the room, was on the TV. And it just so happened that the blonde next to me, was also on the TV.

"Liz!" Beck shouted, making the poor girl blush. I laughed and nudged her side as she hung her head in embarrassment. My poor girl, she so easily got embarrassed.

I looked over towards the screen, watching as her brother set her down on the stage. I was laughing along with everybody as, though we quieted down as she began to speak on stage. Her voice sounded weird over the TV, and she looked weirder. She looked super cute, so that was a plus. The shot get going back and forth between her and her family, as well as Natalie. It's weird, I kinda miss Natalie. We only hung out a little bit but she was really sweet, fucking weird, but sweet.
