Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله, said:

"If a person thinks only of Allah day and night, He relieves him from every distress and takes upon Himself all his worries. His soul is filled with love for Him, his tongue is occupied only with remembering Him, and his body is occupied with good deeds.

But whoever thinks only of this world day and night, Allah puts all worldly worries and burdens on him and leaves him to himself. Love for creatures distracts his soul from love for Allah, remembrance of them distracts his tongue from remembrance of Allah, and service to them distracts his body from obedience to Him.

Like animals, he diligently serves others. Anyone who turns away from worshipping, obeying, and loving Allah will obey, love, and serve creatures.

"And whoever is blinded from remembrance of the Most Merciful - We appoint for him a devil, and he is to him a companion."
