Make it a habit to say, "Allahumma gfir-li" (O Allah forgive me).
Hasan al-Basri رحمه الله advised:
"Your life is short, so hurry up and do not postpone today's affairs until tomorrow, for you do not know when you will die and meet Allah."

Hafiz ibn Rajab رحمه الله said:
"The limit of the dreams of the dead is to rise for an hour to make up for what they have missed in repentance and good deeds, at a time when the living spend their lives in useless pastimes, negligence and inactivity, there are among them those who spend their lives in sins."
