"Every soul will taste death. And only on the Day of Resurrection will you receive your reward in full. Whoever is then raptured from the (hell) fire and admitted into the (Paradise) garden has indeed achieved success. And the life of this world is only deceptive enjoyment".

Sura al-Imrān verse 185

Hasan al-Basri, رحمه الله, said:

"Make haste, make haste, for verily when your breath is cut off, your deeds of approaching Allah will also cease. May Allah have mercy on such a person who looks at himself and weeps because of his many sins!"

"Al-Aqibah fi zikri-l-mawt", 82

"Be sons of the eternal world..."

'Ali ibn Abu Talib, رضوان الله عليهم, said:

"This world has turned and is going away, and the eternal world is coming towards us, and each of them has sons. But be sons of the eternal world and not sons of this world, for verily today there are deeds and no reckoning, and tomorrow there is reckoning but no deeds."

Imam Ibn Qayyim, "al-Mufadala", 91

He who does not prepare for death is a fool.

Ibn al-Jawzi, رحمه الله, said:

"How unfortunate is he who does not know when death will come to him, and yet does not prepare himself for it!"

Saidu'l-Hatir

May Allah have mercy on him who does not deceive himself.
