Chapter 12: Circle

This chapter might be a little werid but im planning on smth wih this its called foreshadowing :)

The plan was technically a success.

Although the mission didn't end there, you did achieve your goal: to make sure the media and police understood that you were not taking orders from that squad of amateurs, at least not seriously.

"Yesterday, at 10am, a band of villains attacked the USJ while a class was in session, seeking to kill the symbol of peace, All Might. Among them were 3 of the villains that attacked Uwajima. Following this, we have made a shocking new discovery:"

You watched the newscast. You were at HQ, viewing the newly updated police files on the Shinigami Investigation when Hex, the director of research, informed you of the broadcast.

"It appears that one, or none of the 8 villains that massacred Uwajima is the true Shinigami. This was brought up by one of the students who were attacked, as the villains referred to them as 'boss'. According to eyewitnesses, it also seems that Shinigami was hired by this league to help them kill All Might, but they also had their own plans. They sent in three villains, identified as Radioactive, Solar, and Strike."

Pictures of the three flashed on the screen. The photos were from the massacre because the security cameras were cut out as soon as the attack started.

"During the attack, they stated that 'the boss' wanted to keep the strong ones alive, which leads to the discussion: What does Shinigami want from the strong ones? It is assumed that they might want to recruit them to their group, which we know according to the payment from different countries, has approximately several million members. The investigators are currently trying to find the hideout of this organization. It is rumored that it is near the Kanto region. Now, the weather for next we- BST"

"It worked out pretty nicely." You stood up and faced Hex. "Tell Solar, Strike and Radioactive they did well."

"Yes, boss." Hex dipped her head and opened her phone to text them. You stroked the 3 cats that sat in your lap. You also had some owls and snakes, but they are currently sleeping.

That reminds you, it was 1am and you need your rest as well. You stood up as the cats scurried off your lap and proceeded to hide under the sofa.

"Boss! They have decoded an old history book from the 2000's!" Hex suddenly said. "They want you to come see."

You turned to look at her. "KLRC7 right?"

"Yes." Hex replied, tapping on her phone. "They've finally restored it. Mostly thanks to that guy with the transmutation quirk."

"Alright. I'll head over." You headed for the door and the cats followed you.

Ever since you got a hold of these facilities, you have devoted a group of people to uncover the legend of Kira, the supposed first Death Note welder. (Alrigt load on the cringe, max level)

When you were a kid, your parents told you about this legend but left out the death note and the method of killing. Modern investigators brushed it off as a myth, as the legend dated back to before quirks, where such was seen as impossible. But ever since your first and presumably last encounter with a true shinigami, you were convinced that the Legend was real.

You had people look though and uncover past media, and found old reports and websites devoted to Kira. You've personally looked through destroyed police investigation files from hundreds of years ago, and found evidence that it is real. Kira did exist. And they had a real death note.
