Chapter 35: Iodine

Solus POV

Solus pressed her back against the tree, listening in to the villains conversation. She knew that one of them had noticed her already. Thankfully, that person was Iceberg.

She knew that Radioactive had contacted Iceberg. But even if he is somewhat on her side, his goals are unknown, and therefore he is dangerous.

Carefully slipping the walkie talkie back into her pocket in favor of two hemlock darts, she moved it to horizontal position, holding the darts in between the clenched fingers of her fist with the needlepoints facing out.

Taking a deep breath, she spun out from the tree, using the momentum to throw the darts. It hit two of the three and they crumpled to the ground.

The remaining rogue clapped sarcastically. "Miscalculating? That's not like you, Solus."

"Shut it, Iceberg." She narrowed her eyes. "Wasn't aiming for you anyway."

Solus examined the other closely. He had black hair of an unnatural inky color, most likely from a disguise serum. His eyes were the same color as before, like Solus's electric-sky blue eyes, but a more dull, muted color. The skin on his face was burned and patched up together with what looked like... staples?

"Y'know, they were right, we do look like siblings. Used to, at least." Iceberg cracked his spine in a stretch. "Are you wearing black mascara? Wow, we're like identical twins."

"We aren't" Solus said simply. "We aren't even the same race."

"I know, I know." He dismissed. "So?"

"So?"

"There's a reason you didn't aim for me."

"Oh, I don't know, maybe because you spotted me already!?" She said sarcastically. "Alright, Iceberg. Spill it, what's the league after?"

"That's 'Dabi' to you." 

"Yes yes, and?"

"They want to kidnap this 'Bakugo Katsuki'. Not a good idea honestly." He swatted at air as if the idea itself offends him. "He definitely won't turn villain, so that probably isn't the goal."

"Right." She nodded. He's correct. I wonder how much he knows.

'Dabi' though? Dabi... Radioactive probably gave him a fire based quirk. Did she intend to destroy him with a quirk incompatible to his body? Fire and ice will clash, and it's likely that the quirks will battle for dominance, thereby ripping his body to shreds. 

He isn't like Todoroki, Iceberg can activate his quirk over his entire body. I don't know about the new fire quirk, but if it manifests directly on his body, then the two quirks would repel and tear him apart. Todoroki however, his quirks know their boundaries and therefore won't fight over territory.

Radioactive doesn't know much about Iceberg. He deserted the Clan at around the time Radioactive got involved with it, so most of what she knew about him were rumors. Most of the rumors were untrue and exaggerated.

Except that he outsmarted Cyanide once in a battle. Not bested, but outsmarted.

Someone currently uncalled for, unknown motives, with IQ close or higher than Cyanide's, on top of that, with vital information that might collapse the entire operation. Solus had to be extremely careful.
