Radioactive flashback
All for One's eyes widened suddenly. His body regenerated in the blink of an eye, and his left hand came up to his face, bringing to attention a small cut that despite the regeneration quirk, still remained.
"Goddammit!" He swore. Coughs whacked his body, and blood spat out from his mouth.
Rei watched, wide-eyed as he hacked out a bullet. It dropped to the ground with bloody chunks of his lung.
His fingers dug into his own face, drawing blood. Slowly, his finger prodded out another round, blood-covered bullet. All for One's eyes turned back to Rei's.
"You speak a word of what happened today, and you won't be the only one I'll kill."
"Fuck you." She seethed. "Mark my fucking words, All for One. Watch your fucking step. One of these days I'll send you to hell."
As she spoke, another wet cough broke out from the villain. "Fuck."
There was a moment of silence, and then-
"How'd you like that?" A new voice spoke, quiet, raspy, but unmistakably real.
All for One's invisible grip on Rei slackened, and she dropped to the ground. She slumped, struggling to stand. The adrenaline rush was over. Her body was once again groggy and dull with disuse.
Rei looked up, realizing All for One isn't standing either. His coughs sounded far away as she realized; persistent coughing is a symptom for the last stage of lung cancer.
She thought back to the small cut on the villain's chin she had noticed earlier.
The cut that still bleeds.
Was there something in that cut? Something that... speeds up time for that person?
"I have you to thank." Her eyes glanced up, mentally reeling at the unnaturally red of their hair. He- or she? tossed a knife in her hands. Unsettling yellow eyes stared back at her under the shadow of the hood-
Flashback ENDDD Radioactive POV
"Wait a second-" Radioactive paused in the middle of recalling their conversation.
Short cut red hair.
Yellow eyes.
Were they ringed? Was she- Radioactive tried to recall the details. What did the eyes look like? That person who just so happened to save her life- was it Kyozo?
"You having memory issues?" Bakugo questioned.
'Well, since we have mutual interests, I'll let you go.'
Holy shit, that was Kyozo?
She was wearing a uniform, one just like what I'm wearing now. She was wearing a pin- a pin with the skull of a jackal printed on it.
Jackal headed god- Anubis. Kyozo is from the Anubis clan!
"Okay so anyways after that I went unconscious and someone dragged my ass to a warehouse that was apparently an entrance to HQ." Radioactive finished.
She put the new discoveries into a mental box to be sorted out later.
Hive's POV
"God fucking dammit!" He slammed his fist into the table. He had lost signal- and just around the good part.
"You didn't have a cell provider with it?" Shinigami asked. Upon contacting her, she had come immediately to his lab with Cyanide.
"I did, but someone overrode it." He huffed. "We need Strike. He can probably reset the connection."
Hive continued to stare at the screen, fingers tapping away at the keyboard, trying to at least salvage the data that stored before the connection was lost.
"There isn't a huge problem." Cyanide said, breaking the silence. "As long as the data is still being collected, we can view it when either Strike resets the connection or when the fly can get back."
"Yes, that's how it works. I still have control over the insect, but the mind reading device won't connect with the computer. If Strike doesn't reset the connection and the fly doesn't get back, we lose the information." Hive explained.
"Use hivemind." Cyanide suggested. "Hivemind lets you see what the insect sees."
"Wait." Shinigami spoke. "Shut down the connection."
"What, why?" Hive asked.
"You said they're overriding the cell provider. It won't be impossible-"
The screen turned from staticy black and white to red.
"Yo-hoo!" The screen glowed with the words "Your data has been stolen~ <3"
"-For them to hack us." Shinigami finished as jazz music started to play from the speakers.
