CHRISTMAS EVE TRAGEDY

December 24, this is supposed to be a happy day. I suddenly remembered how I celebrated my Christmas Eve before.

Every Christmas Eve, we go to the same place where we always hangout and give our gifts for each in that place. It's more like a tradition. We grew up together so we both know each other more that anyone else. Until our friendship turns into relationship. We kept doing the same tradition.

Christmas Eve is the day we are both excited to come. Aside from our tradition, we also do things together during Christmas Eve. We eat, we laugh, we watch Christmas movies and more. We're both contented and happy.

"Is this the last shirt we saw in the store last week?" I exclaimed.

"Yes. You said you like that so I secretly bought it for you." He answered.

We're happy having each other. Christmas Eve is not a Christmas Eve without him.

"Let's re-watch the Home Alone!" I said while we're looking for a movie to watch.

It's Christmas Eve of 2019 and we're still doing the same thing. We're in our hangout place and decided to re-watch our favorite movie. We laughed so hard as we watch the movie. It's so romantic and warm.

And then a cold air wrapped around me. He still hugged me even when he's already gone.

Christmas Eve of 2019, the same date when he died. Our hangout place got set on fire while we're both sleeping and we didn't noticed it. It's all too late for both of us. He sacrificed his life so I can safely get out of the house.

A tear fell from my eye as I remenisced what happened that same night. He died so I can live.

"I love you, my love." I whispered before leaving the place where our hangout place used to be.
