Deja Vu

It's almost 12:00 and everyone's excited, though I don't know if it's about Christmas or the scheme that the organizers have prepared. They're going to choose three random partners and will ask them to kiss under the 3 mistletoe hanging at the center of the hall.

"10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4," Magka birthday naman tayo Lord, huwag naman sana akong malasin. "3, 2, 1," Sabay sabay na sigaw nilang lahat at biglang nagdilim ang buong hall.

For a whole minute I couldn't see anything but darkness and I prayed that it'd stay that way but guess what, six spotlights turned to six people, there are three colors to indicate your partner, and unfortunately, one light turned and stopped on me. Everyone cheered and shouted things that I couldn't understand anymore.

"The chosen ones are now revealed, everybody clap your hands!" The emcee started, "Alright, please, lucky winners, go under a mistletoe with your partner now."

The other five started to walk toward the mistletoe so I just followed them or else I'll be labeled as a bummer.

"Everyone! Let us all witness these 3 lucky future couples to begin their love right here and now! Merry Christmas everyone, you may now kiss!" The emcee shouted and the crowd went wild.

I couldn't hear anything anymore, I'm just looking in the eyes of the man who's looking at me as well. "I'll kiss you now." He said so I tightly closed my eyes. I can feel him slowly nearing me as he held my face and angled me for a soft kiss.

Deja vu. No, I will never forget these soft lips. As I felt his lips, flashes of memories came through me so I opened my eyes and moved a few steps backwards.

"You..." I couldn't finish my words when I saw him smiling at me and said, "Happy Birthday Ava, Merry Christmas."

"My first kiss," I unconsciously touched my lips without looking away. "You were that man! You stole my first kiss!" I shouted, and he just smiled.

"I already gave it back though," He said and winked at me before leaving me behind.

Again.
