I sighed heavily as we stopped walking and looked into his majestic green-to-yellow eyes he sighed and looked down as I opened my mouth to speak.

"I saw a forest boy selected by a tulkun. I am very proud of you." I spoke with a smile as he looked up at me.

"It was not Payakan who killed the boys. I saw it." lo'ak spoke I sighed and shook my head.

"The demon ship killed his mother right in front of him, so he gathered the young bulls and the reef boys to attack the ship, and they were all killed" he hissed.

"But of the people of heaven, not of him. He's not a killer!!" he yelled the last part a little louder.

"According to the law of the Tulkuns, he is responsible for their death." I spoke softly.

"Will he have to pay for it for the rest of his life? If he knows what he did was wrong!" lo'ak groaned.

"We have to tell my father..." I said as his eyes widened before he shook his head.

"No I'm already in enough trouble with my dad already!" lo'ak yelled as I sighed heavily and looked down.

"Your father will understand." I spoke as lo'ak shook his head once again.

"No. He doesn't understand anything." lo'ak scoffed.

"The whole clan hates me. Demon blood, alien. That's all they see!" he yelled as I grabbed his hand and held it up.

"I see you." I spoke, his pupils dilated.

"You are the brother of a tulkun.  You are one of us now." I smiled as he looked at my hands holding his before he sighed and shook his head.

"Y/n." he spoke as he dropped his hand to his side, I let go and looked up into his eyes.

"Lo'ak, you are-"

"Y/n! Stop!" he groaned as I flinched and stepped back a little he ran his fingers through his hair before shaking his head.

"Lo'ak-"

"Y/n! I don't see you like that! I see you as a friend." he groaned as my heart shattered into small tiny pieces, I nodded and sniffled trying to hold back tears.

"I've got to go.." I muttered as he sighed and looked down, I ran off into the little forest we had on our island, I leant up against a tree before crying to myself.

I loved him, and I finally had admitted to loving him only to get my heart broken.

"I found her sir!" a familiar voice yelled as I was picked up, I opened my eyes and saw neteyam carrying me in his arms.

"My daughter!!" my father yelled as I was placed into his hands before my mother ran over and sighed heavily.

I began to cry as my father looked at my mother with a worried look, I cried into my fathers chest as they began walking back to the village. Aonung ran over as my father placed me down.

"Oh dear sister!" he cried as he pulled me into a tight hug, I felt weak. I felt like I couldn't breathe or maybe I just didn't want to breathe.

I cried into his neck as he made me wrap my less around his waist, it wasn't fair.

"What happened?" aonung asked placing me down soft and cupping my cheek as I just cried and cried, I felt so numb. I felt stuff I've never felt before. Heart break.

"I-" I muttered as I saw lo'ak walk over to a girl. I instantly shook my head and broke down into tears as I jumped into the water and called for my ilu, I hopped on and began making my way to a cave.

I couldn't do it anymore, I ran into the cave and sat down on the cold floor as I began to scream and cry all my anger out, how could someone do this to someone...

"Hey." a voice spoke, I turned my head to meet eyes with one of the old metkayina women, I wiped away all my tears and stood up brushing myself off.

"Are you okay dear?" she asked as she walked over to me, I nodded and tried to smile only for her to sigh and shake her head.

"Tell me whats wrong dear." she spoke as we both sat down and I began to tell her what happened as her eyes began to swell with tears.

"The same happened to me, it's okay because in the end, I found someone better for me! And that's what you need.. If he doesn't love you, you can't make him love you." she spoke, my ears lifted up.

"I'll be like the girl he likes! Your a genius! Thank you!" I smiled as she shook her head. I stood up and ran out the cave before I saw him and the girl talking I began to examine all the stuff she wore.

She had a pearl necklace so I decided I would go find some pearls!

"Y/n?" I turned around and met eyes with Rotxo as he chuckled and walked over to me helping me carry baskets full of stuff, I smiled as he looked at what was in the baskets.

"What's this? Are you changing yourself up?" he laughed as I smiled and nodded before his face had basically sunk, his ears pinned to the side of his head as he sighed.

"Y/n, he isn't worth it. Your changing to look exactly like his girl-"

"Girlfriend...?" I muttered as rotxo looked down, I covered my mouth with my hand before holding back sobs.

"Rotxo I was wondering where aonung was-" I turned my head and met eyes with neteyam, I looked down.

"Y/n! I found you finally, do you know where lo'ak is?" he asked as I shook my head.

"Why?"

"His gone missing and I can't find him anywhere." my ears pinned to the side of my head before I realised aonung probably took him outside the reef again.

"I know." I spoke as I called for my ilu and placed down all the stuff as we got onto our ilus and made our way to the outside of the reef, I saw payakan and lo'ak outside the reef.

"Lo'ak!" neteyam yelled as I looked at lo'ak he had been crying, I instantly made my way over to payakan as neteyam followed.

I jumped up onto Payakan and grabbed lo'ak pulling him into a tight hug, as he cried into the crook of my neck, I rubbed his back up and down before pulling away and looking into his eyes.

"I'm so sorry!" he sobbed as I rubbed his back up and down before placing a gentle kiss on his cheek.

"I tried to distract my love for you y/n. I knew I would never be good enough and I'm sorry!" he cried as I cupped his cheek and smiled as he smiled back at me.

"I see you y/n."
