Much to the dismay of the soldiers of the cloud knights, you were a very difficult drill sergeant. Calling for nearly a thousand reps of every exercise. As you put it, "500 on each side makes for a balanced soldier."
Though, regardless of how strict your training regimen was, it had built with it a loyal group of soldiers who admired your stringent routines. For they too believed that this method had instilled in them the proper reflexed for when the time came to fight upon the battlefield.
It had been nearly three hundred years since you last faced off against an opponent upon a battlefield. Although, you couldn't say you missed it. The peace that was upheld upon the Luofu brought ease to your often troubled mind.
For that you thanked the General, for as much as he lazed around, he was quite good at his job.
"Master Y/N!" A young chipper girl ran over with a sprightful salute.
"Sushang. Have you completed transcribing your texts?" You question, holding a record between your fingers, of which you analyzed intently.
"Aww, but master, Yanqing doesn't have to transcribe any ancient scrolls. Why do I have to?" She asked, sheepishly digging her toes into the sandy training ground.
"Yanqing is under the guide of General Jing Yuan. He is allowed by his master to study in the manner in which he is taught. You, Sushang are my student-"
"Waaaaaa-!" Sushang exclaimed in horrified disbelief, clinging harshly to your leg as she cried and begged to be allowed at least a single day without transcribing ancient texts.
You ran a hand down your face, sighing before ushering her to run along before you changed your mind. She immediately ran off and joined Yanqing who had been hiding behind a tree in eager anticipation. You let out a deep breath.
"You know, if you sigh like that too much your lungs will inflate." The low chuckle of the general alerted you of his arrival.
You bowed, "General." He raises his hand to dismiss the formalities between you two.
"You teach the way master used to." Jing Yuan says with a somber look.
"And you teach the way a bum ought to." You scold, placing the scroll into your hand exasperated. You wondered how the laziest General in the entire history of the Xianzhou managed to keep the massive ship from exploding along an asteroid bank.
It was truly a marvel, that Jing Yuan.
"Our pupils have taken to one another." He notes with a smile.
"Sushang is young. She will soon realize that there is no need for romantic endeavors." You reply, not sure how much you wanted her to fall for the prodigal loafer.
"Perhaps. Then what of us? What would you say to a 'romantic' endeavor. Mr.Y/N?" He had caught you off guard, but you supposed that a bit of an outing couldn't hurt.
As the both of you walked along the peach blossom trees, you noticed how the General's long eyelashes would casually bat as he took in his surroundings. He raised his hand in attempt to catch a falling petal as they glided down from their branches.
You found yourself laughing once a tiny petal had stuck itself onto the general's hair. The tiny pink speck managing to remain on the General's head until you attempted to lift it off. Just before you could grab it, he turned to you, shocked to see the distance between you scarcely close.
"Were you trying to touch me just then, oh stringent master of discipline?" He teased, leaning in towards you face. You felt your face flush as you smacked the petal aggressively off his head.
"Hah! Presumptuous-" You call, looking away in embarrassment.
The general smirks as an idea, he slams his fist into the peach blossom trees and sends an array of petals falling. He leans in and kisses you just as the petal flies before your face. As he pulls back, a single petal is left in his mouth.
"Unbelievable!" You continue your slew of synonyms to your complete disbelief. The general laughing as he continues along the path, stretching out a hand to you.
"Jing Yuan, I Y/N, will have my revenge." You swear with a smile. Placing your hand in his as you approach the pool of longevity in the middle of the peach blossom woods.
You notice a strange rustling in the wind, an artificial change that laughs in the wind. You look to the tops of the trees and notice the motion of two young children dancing upon the treetops, sending copious amounts of petals to fall of the branches. Swirling around you and the general, the petals compliment his face.
Blushing you turn away; a proper knight could not think of such lewd things! Especially not about their superiors- however, the general was in no fashion proper. Not even as a young officer training under your master. He would always find a way to have fun in the middle of practices. Often times you remember master Jingliu scolding him after she dismissed all her other students, continuing to train him until the sun set.
That was something you admired about the general, though it would not save him from the revenge you planned against him for stealing a kiss from your lips.
You approached the pond with reserve, watching as the general got close to its waters and began to play with the cloud ducklings. With a devious glint in your eyes, you approached calmly and kicked the general into the water. It was shallow enough that he merely flipped over and coughed, baffled that you had done such a thing. "That is sweet revenge, dear general."
Laughing, you were oblivious to the two students behind you who threw you on top of the general, and into the water. You landed square onto his chest, as he smirked. "Revenge, is sweet is it not?" He said, splashing a bit of water over your face, placing one of the small cloud ducks upon your head.
He watched you climb out of the water, completely drenched. "Look what you've done Jing Yuan! My clothes are ruined." You moped, knowing that a replacement garment would not be cheap.
"A true monster I am~ Oh woe is Y/N, a man soaked- in water." He played on the emphasis of your distraught reaction.
"A man soaked in water, who is ready to exact his revenge." You say, confidently stealing a kiss from the general's shocked face before running back to your office in a hurry. Jing Yuan followed not far behind.
The two of you chased each other around the courtyard, as the two laughing students watched from the treetops.

A/N: This chapter was a bit short. I didn't have much else to add since it was mainly just cute moments between the reader and the general.
It's so nice to take a break from angst. But, I am an angsty person. SO- back to it!
Thank you for reading,
- sincerely, me!
