WARNING: CHAPTER IS A BIT BORING. I WAS FEELING UNINSPIRED.

Haya

The door opened and I blinked in surprise.

Dressed in a the outfit of a test cricketer, Faizan had a duffel bag with a cricket kit slung over his shoulder.

"I support the other team." I said, immediately.

"May I help you?" He asked in a flat voice.

"I'm here to see Reem Khalla. I messaged her and she said she's here, so here I am." I shrugged. "Who are you playing?"

"It's just a practice."

"Cool." I stepped past him into the house.

"Why don't you come in?" He asked, sarcastically.

Anaya Aunty was just coming down the stairs as I approached the living room door.

"Assalam Alaikum." I greeted her with a smile.

"Walaikum Assalam! Oh, Haya, what a pleasant surprise!" She reached me and gave me a hug.

"Hareem Khalla said she wanted me here." I explained.

"Oh, yes, of course. See, we are going to be preparing Hoor's outfits soon for the bridal buri. Since you two are the same size, we thought that we could use your help for the readymade outfits." My sister's mother-in-law smiled. "And, while doing so, we can get the sizes for your outfit too."

"My outfit?" I was confused.

"Of course, we gift the entire family as a token: the parents, the siblings, your Nano and Dado. If Mamma was alive, she would have helped select the outfits for the grandmothers herself."

"That's funny because my family is doing the same." I grinned.

"Free outfits? Nice." Faizan joked.

"Faizan..." Aunty shook her head at her youngest child.

I bit the inside of my cheek to hide a smile.

"Come." Grabbing me lightly by the elbow, she led me towards the back of the house, and across the garden. We headed towards the annexe where Khalla and Gul Nano used to stay. Even now, if Hareem Khalla spent the night here, she stayed in the annexe.

"How's everything with you, Haya?" Aunty asked me.

"Same old, same old. Dividing my life between searching for jobs in art galleries, and cricket."
