INTRODUCTION
Hello,
I suppose this is an author's note. This story is loosely based on my own experiences, as well as stories other people have told me. This includes events I experienced as a sixteen year old girl. In no way, am I glamorizing drug abuse, abuse in general, assault, or any of the actions portrayed in this book. I am simply writing it so maybe somebody out there feels less alone. There is extremely sensitive content in this book, including drug abuse, sexual assault, overdose, alcoholism, and suicide and depression. Please be cautious of your headspace while reading this. And if you are under seventeen I highly recommend not reading this as I remember how influenced young minds can be as I was and am at the current time still am one. These characters are based off of myself and my friends throughout sophomore year, and the summer before junior year. I wrote this throughout time while I experienced more of life. I do caution you however this is not a happy ending-feel good book. I hope that when people read this they can understand addiction doesn't discriminate, neither does mental illness and personality disorders. I hope I can change even one person's views on addiction and mental illness by having written this book. The main character, Kaitlyn (Lynnie) is based off of myself and this story will alternate her perspective and her parents. So maybe people can see things through their parents' eyes or vice versa. I've also included the perspective of her friends and boyfriends, as well as flashbacks of hers. No real names, or set in stone events are included in this book.
