Aira
My stomach dropped with each tik on the clock. Lex did not bother working again and only stared at me as I lay here with quietness. I wasn't sad about anything that happened between us rather when it was over, I was thrown back into my overthinking about Sophie.
Those thoughts rendered around my head for so long, wishing Lex would just read my mind like he normally does and fix everything. But there was no reassurance or clarity. How can Lex just randomly let a girl come into our room? A couple needs privacy, and all friends and clients should know that. Even family knows that. Lex came to take a seat next to me at last.
"Aira, talk to me," he begged placing his hand on my naked leg.
"There's nothing to talk about, Lex," my voice softly ached, feeling his thumb brush soft back and forth strokes on my skin.
Lex pulled me up by my arm till I was facing him. Something in me had still refused to look at him in the eyes. He took both my small hands into his and held them close to his lap.
"Why are you so annoyed?" he questioned like he didn't know.
"You know why," my head jerks in arrogance to the side.
Before the conversation could continue, beeping noises came across the cabin. I turn behind to look and Sophie is doing the pin to Lex's cabin.
"Why does your client know the pin to your cabin?" I asked with trigger clear in my voice.
Lex is hesitant to give me an answer. I want to know what he's hiding from me. I deserve to know. I can't stand another woman hovering around my husband in my presence.
"Do you not have any manners? Why are you always interrupting us?" I shot the scold at her.
"I'm sorry but I didn't know you were in here," she apologises instantly.
Her gaze is captured by my dressing and Lex's naked chest. Then her eyes wandered around the office to find my heels thrown along with my panties and dress.
"You need to stay within your limits, Sophie. I don't know who you are, or what you are to our company, but if you're a client, stay a client."
"Lex are you not going to say anything?" Sophie tried to manipulate a response.
I look behind for a response too, but he is quiet with his eyes wandering between the both of us in confusion. In the end, his eyes locked with mine in an apologetic manner for a few seconds.
"I see. I expected better from you," she says as she leaves the cabin with anger.
"I expected better too," I chuckled the response to Lex, grabbing my heels to leave his cabin too.
He should've told her the same thing I did. What is wrong with this man? He's getting on my nerves and so is Sophie. This has to stop soon or I'm losing it. Lex wandered behind me and all he did was try to talk me out of this but I ignored him and caught the closest taxi available for me to catch.
My arms folded against my chest thinking about what had just happened. Lex's silence clears this all out. My suspicions, everything is true. Lex had got back home right behind me and it was no surprise he did now that he had to save his ass. I walked right up to our room and he didn't give me a chance to lock it.
Rather, Lex barged in with his entire force and grabbed me by the arm to stop me from entering the bathroom as my second escape. He locked our room door behind us before uttering anything.
"You are my wife now. You're my responsibility and that means that you do not catch a car if I am present to drive you home," his eyebrows raise in authority.
